I'm sure this problem has been asked a million times. I did look around the old posts but couldn't find anything that answered my question though.
Anyway, I'm setting up a wireless network for a freind. He has
1) Netgear WGR614 802.11g Wireless router
2) DSL modem wired to router
2) WinXP desktop with Belkin 802.11g wireless card
3) WinXP laptop with generic 802.11b wireless card
Here's the problem. All the computers work (i.e. the internet works, files can be shared, etc) when wired to the router however I cannot get them to connect wireless. I have tried everything. I can get to the web-based setup for the router and I set up everything correctly. I even turned off WEP figuring I would at least get it to work before I enabled any security. Also, when I click the "wireless connection" in network connections I can't get anything, all the buttons are grayed out i.e. advanced, ok, etc. I hope I accurately described the problem, Any ideas?
