I installed Debian on my computer a while back, and X didn't work. I thought 'no big deal, just download a newer version of X.' Well, I did that (4.0.2) and installed it. After it installed, I did 'XFree86 -config' (or whatever command it was) to configure it. It said it couldn't find the mouse.
Then (just below the mouse message) it gave the command to test out the new server, I typed it in, the screen went blank for a second and then when it came back up it said it couldn't find the core pointer (?). Does this have something to do with the mouse?
Anyone had any experience getting X to work w/Debian (on a TNT card), or know how I can get this working? Thanks for any info.
