I'm not getting into this one because I don't want to deal with the bs. But to stir things up a little bit I just checked their shipping for a single drive and it is only $5 ground or $18 next day. But when I tried the shipping for 20 drives it was $24.80 ground and $54.60 next day.

Makes one wonder doesn't it?

But if Igram is shipping they will go by the drive number which is for a single drive. So no chance in my opinion.

If they don't honor the price and don't let us cancel the order, we can simply dispute the charge with the CC company and make it entirely free. (I think)

I also tried this earlier tonight. I was 99.999999% sure it wasn't going to go through. But I hoped they would feel bad for the misprice and give a discount on a single or something. But seeing how many people also tried, especially with people ordering 10, I don't expect anything but hassle now. I now wish it's possible to cancel my order online.

There's no way in heck they have a leg to stand on for next day airing a drive for 54.00...I've had fairly good luck with my visa card so far..

UPS guys comes in, you STARE at the case, if it is size of your fridge, then accept the package and kiss the UPS guy/lady.
And if it is a minni-mi size of a box then refuse it COMPLETELY and call COmpUSA immediately..

whoever ordered check the weight at ups tracking after it ships and post what the weight is. if its 1.3 lbs like compusas site says, then its one drive.

You can't just look at the size of the box since they'd ship in the same size box about (okay, well not that close)...but you'd have to feel the weight of the thing to be sure anyhow

1.3lbs is the weight of the drive itself.....if this is a retail pack (and I believe it is) it will weight closer to 2.5 lbs with all the packing in the Maxtor box...then add another pound or so for the packing they pack the Maxtor box into. But I still think you should noticed the weight difference if they give you a tracking number. As soon as you see the weight as incorrect, call CompUSA and tell them they shipped the wrong item and refuse the package and call your cc to get the charged reversed if they do not acknowlede the deal. Easy as pie! I am trying ti just for the hell of it...can't hurt.

so what exactly does the law say about this sort of thing? i know they are not obligated to sell us the product at this price even after we have agreed to it...but what happens if they do in fact charge our credit cards and ship one drive. do we have to send it back...or can we at that point demand that they fulfill their end of the contract and ship us the other 19?

i tried a similar deal with some fans. Listed as 100 pack, then they changed the description on them on the website.
supposed to be 100pk, i ordered 2 'packs', I got 2 fans for $38. Returned them to compusa b&m they gave me back $47, i even told them they cost be less, but they couldnt change the price.

it is one HD, not 20.
