oOoo you guys must feel clever. Maybe I didn't make it clear enough when I was referring to memory as in for storage. Not Random Acess Memory that can only hold onto the data for the time a current is available. Current solid state memory such as flash cards have really fast access, but has a limited number of write cycles. My thinking was that once we replace Hard drives with Solid state, the access may be fast enough to not even require caching onto the RAM. Now I have to stop responding to know-it-all 13 year olds.

Well there are cards coming out shortly called DDR Drives. www.ddrdrive.com basicly what it does is it constantly gives power to RAM chips that you supply for the card so they can work as a hard drive. Mainstream users would probably use it for an Operating System while gamers would probably use it for their favorite games so they would have insane load times.

As for the original question. I think we will start seeing more Dual core CPUs for multitaskers and more games designed to utilize dual core capable CPUs. Also i think we might be moving more towards optical CPUs like IBM has been working on. The near future however will most likely be populated by dual core CPUs running around 3.0 Ghz for intel and 2.2 for AMD.
