I've been studying VB programming on my own for some two - three years. I've
studied MS Press Certification books.. 7 of them.
Now, I'm attending a one-year course on programming. My question is...How do
you manage to do exactly what your teacher asks of you..? I find this difficult. Not
because I've studied VB before but because when we have lectures, the teacher
shows us how to do certain things ie. small sequences of a program. Then when we
do the exercises that come with the litterature, I try to solve the problem like the
teacher has shown us earlier. The thing is...she doesn't solve the exercises
in accordance with what she has taught. ..it's like you can never do anything right.
One minute she will look at the solution in a broad scope, the next, just a few rows
of code furher down, she will look at it in a small scope. ..What to do..to please..??
I realize that it must be a difficult task to teach programming. There are so many
different ways of thinking and also of how to solve a problem. You want good
results and good grades that you can show to an employer when you
look for a job. What do you do, when you find the teacher is not consequent in
her teaching? Do you just do your best and make certain that you can explain
every bit of code that you create..Are there any essential things that you should
look to when you are learning programming. In a nutshell...??? Please tell me.
