programming test advice

hi all,

i applied for a junior developer job in a company that makes network and antivirus applications. i was told that i'll be given a programming test involving writing a couple programs in c++/java.. i was wondering what area of programming(e.g. data structure, fileio..etc) should i be concentrating on practicing for the test? if you have experience in test like this, please give me some advice.. thanx..

Logic & planning to attack a problem.

Being a junior, your programming skills are not going to be expected to be skilled. You will be expected to show that you can understand and logically break down a generic problem.

i've asked them, but the hr people told me that they don't know what kinda questions i'm getting..

In my experience those tests are general data structure/algorithm questions.
