Let me start by saying that I certainly hope this is an allowable post and in the correct area. Certainly not looking to break any rules or cause any trouble.
I figure there have to be a few around here that enjoy comics/manga to some degree, so I can't be the only one. As such I wanted to share this project here and hopefully bring a little attention to it. For over a decade now I have been in the works of trying to bring an evolving and deeply complex story to life. Well what started as a story eventually unfolded into a world that is forever ongoing outside of the singular story which I was looking to tell. Eventually and currently, that world is something which exists around the central story I have been creating and is something that I have felt should be something like a pool of creativity for other imaginative minds to collect within and spill out stories, possibilities, theories, and so on. Basically a creator endorsed sandbox world of story-telling. Like when you watch a movie or read a great book but are left thinking "So what if these guys over here went off and did this?" Pretty exciting stuff, but we'll get to that later on.
Anywho, I have teamed up with an extremely talented artist and well known cosplayer (Widely known as Lalasosu) to start dishing out a storyboard, artwork, characters, and so forth. Over the time we have spent together, we have accumulated a mass amount of information and ultimately decided on changing this story from a Novel format into a graphic format. It will be layed out much like a traditional manga with heavy emphasis on storyline, character development, and immersion. While the story itself will only consist of 10 or less installments of 30-50 hand-drawn page bits - we will be releasing world, creature, and lore information along the way and trying to find great stories and ideas from other creative minds to give them their own side stories. Sounds exciting to us, and it's certainly something that we hope others find at least interesting. As such we deeply desire our project to so succeed.
What this comes down to is very simple : funding. The artists and other individuals involved have put in heavy man hours on this project and given away chunks of their lives in order to pursue this goal. The funding that we hope to gather will go to providing them proper payment for their hard work, printing, publishing, and so on. Every single cent will be put towards the betterment of the project.
We have thus assembled information and are currently preparing things such as T-shirts, buttons, art-cards, posters, etc. for contributors in the most cost effective and professional manner possible. We are also outlining exciting updates voices by a stunning Australian, and hopefully we can continue our project with the support of various communities who would be willing to see something like this come to fruition. This is a very dear project to everyone involved - certain ones of them already holding public appeal and can vouch for the solidarity of the project. So, we ask that if you have some time, stop in, check out the campaign, get teaser information on the project, and even if you can't contribute in a financial standpoint (We entirely understand that life has priorities) just help us pass the word around.
We have already been approached by a few publishers who are interested in the outcome so that is always exciting. We hope that we bring the best quality, an interesting story, and ultimately an immersive world for everyone to enjoy. While there are already thousands of outstanding stories out there, we would love to share ours with everyone.
