For the first time in forever, the newest game by Team Ico has had screenshots released. From the looks of it, its still pretty early in alpha.

Team ICO games are too emotional - more like depressing. Someone cool or nice always has to die [or hurt] and it just pisses me off. Yeah I know, "Boo hoo hoo."

On a bright note, the games are really nice to look at.

Man, even that trailer makes me emotional. The music is awesome. Is it original? I will definitely be playing this game.

Trailer was confirmed to be over a year old (probably 1.5 years) on GAF. I imagine it looks ALOT better now.

Trailer was a year old? How come it's only being seen now?

I imagine they wanted to keep the detail from getting leaked. The original screenshot that was released (the chain going down the hole) for TRICO happened in Jan of 2008. Given that that scene is in this video I imagine the trailer was put together before then.

It was an closed doors trailer for an industry meeting last year. So yes, the game probably looks MUCH better now.

Cool, this is the game I wanted ps3 for basically, ICO and SoTC are two of my favorite games ever, love the sad story lines and the art style and everything.

I can't wait to see/learn more about this game. I only recently played through Shadow of the Colossus and loved almost everything about it... from the simple design, the epic battles, the art direction, and let's not forget the incredible music. I played through ICO after that and it was short but very good. I'd heard they were working on a third game but it was very mysterious.

Looks to me like it borrows from both ICO and SotC. The only colossus here is friendly, and your character is more like ICO and is climbing on the colossus and using it to solve the puzzles. It's even seen stuck with arrows much like the colossi in SotC, so perhaps you come under attack by those castle guards you see in it. Maybe you fight hostile colossi as well as solve puzzles. Anyhow, do want!

I thought the premise, the story going into both games, was indeed depressing. Both deal with the sacrifice of some young, innocent person after all. However, much of the environments were bright and sunny and I don't think I'd call the endings depressing. Not going to spoil anything!

cat rat eagle thing. for some reason I get the feeling of Never Ending Story or something

I guess if I had played ICO or SotC, maybe it would have more meaning to me, but for now "I'm not getting it" as in I don't see what the deal is. yeah, I'm missing it.
