I had problems with the prolink pro700c UPS so I replaced the battery , but it is still the same . It still does not hold at all during a power cut . Is this model strong enough for my computer ? I have a Dell T3500 , Xeon W3565 , 12 GB DDR3 , 2 HDDs and a GTX660 . PSU is standard 525 w unit . I cannot find any data on what the actual max wattage of the UPS is .

I personally recommend buying UPS from a reputable brand, which this is not. It's supposedly a 650va unit so it should be good for at least a couple of minutes of run time on your rig.

Where I am located Prolink has basically the monopoly , difficult finding anything else . Did however find an "East" brand 1.2 kva yesterday . I think I answered my own question a couple of minutes ago by shutting off the power to the UPS , it held with no programs running , just desktop , But shut down with a game running . Any idea what the rated wattage of the Prolink is ( it is not enough apparently ) ? I have seen a "DCP" brand 850Va rated at only 480w which is not good .

APC 800Va ( which I have just found available ) is only rated at 415w .

rchunter That is the goal , 1.2KVa . This is a budget computer , be strange to spend more on the UPS than the rest of the setup though . The "East" brand 1.2kva is priced at around $53 . Did not think i would need bigger than a 650 .

Yeah i've never heard of East ups. I don't know what quality they are. Don't think they sell them here in the states.

Where are you located that your only option is no-name brands? When I searched for Prolink, the first results were from a Facebook page for an electronics store in Bangladesh.
