should i rent for prom or go out and buy something to match with my date?

The Plan:

-Pick her up, with dozen of roses and white rose corsage
-Go over to friends house, take pictures
-Ride limo to hotel
-Prom 2005
-Ride limo to Blue Man Group
-Good night

Buy a tux you can wear more than once. It's worth it to own your own tux.

Just make sure you don't load on the freshman 15-30, so you actually can use it.

I wouldn't buy... your body will still grow into college ... not really worth the tux for future events (likely yours or a friends' wedding). Everyone I knew rented for HS prom.

Honestly I've never worn a tux in my life. I've got bunch of suits for corporate / work type of events, but no tuxes. What exactly can you wear those to anyway.

Just rent a plain black tuxedo with a silver/black vest and bowtie/tie, it'll go with anything...there were some guys in high school that spent twice as much to get some extravagant tux, but they didnt look any better than the guys who spent half...you're gonna look good either way, everyone looks good in a tux.
