Prom: Should I go?

There are a cuple girls that want me to go to prom with them one especially, but I don't really want to go with them. They aren't my type. Will I be missing anything if I don't go? What I mean is the girls that want to go with me don't look pretty in my eyes, i rather go with someone that looks beautiful, but I really can't find anyone.

If I could do it all over again I'd rather party & hang out with the guys without shelling out hundreds of $ and going to a boring prom all dressed up.

Go if you think you'll regret it by not going. But just remember, it's one frickin' night...don't spend a lot of money on a bunch of <expletive>.

Proms are a hit and miss thing.. personally mine was amazing.. and the after party.. wow.. I say go for it

Then hang out with your friends at other schools. Prom is for the chumps with a popularity agenda. Unless you plan on being King of the prom, go have a blast with your other friends, those memories will last longer than the slowdance with a girl you're not even interested in. Unless you think you'll regret it, there's a lot of things you can do with the money you save.

i hated high school, and told myself i'd never go to prom. of course my g/f whined me into going, so i went, in some fairly normal clothes might i add (khakis and a decent button/collar t-shirt), and it was crap. it was her school so i didnt know anyone, and even if i did know them, i probably would have hated them. lets just say i was not in with the jock/popular crowd. high school sucked, prom sucked, all i can say is that i'm glad high school is over. too much BS considering you're there to be educated. the BS tended to get in the way of the education (not that i was particularly motivated...but thats another story for another day)

i'm looking forward to mooching off the man so i can go to college and get a cool job =)

Anyhow, my advice is to go if you have someone you want to go with. Cuz if you don't, you'll be stuck slowdancing with a girl you don't even like. (hint hint....my life)

But then, if you don't go...it's something you'll miss out on. But it won't be that bad if you don't like anyone. Ask all the hot chicks you know and hopefully one of them will says yes!

Go with somebody you'll have fun with, I would reccomend going if only because that way you won't regret not going later.

I think its kinda lame that you won't even consider going with someone who isn't "beautiful". I don't think having fun is dependent on how good looking your date is. by the way, are you really good looking or something? i don't see why a beautiful girl would want to go out with an unattractive guy any more than you would want to go out with those girls....

Thats one of the things I really regret about high school. You should definitely go, even if you don't want to. It'll be an experience that you'll remember for the rest of your life

Shop around and hire a hot non-skanky escort that all the guys there will drool over, hell even tell them she's an escort, it will only make you more of a pimp

Personally, looking back on that I would've done that if the girl I went with turned me down..

Edit: Forgot to add that you might want to reconsider the girls you could go to the prom with because they all look and feel the same when the lights are out

I say go. Just cause you go with one girl dosn't mean you can't have fun with others who you do find attractive. Go and have a good time!

I triple that thought, eakers! LOL...for real though, i didn't want to go, because i hate dancing and all that shizzy cause i suck lol, but the after party was worth it! By the time i actually got pressured into going, by one of my friend's gf, everyone had a date, so she had a friend i could go with...she was ok, but i'd rather of went with a good friend, i would of had a better time. Pick and choose your date wisely, not by looks, by relationship.

(sigh) 5 years ago today was my junior prom.....

and i had a great time.

but my senior prom was kind of a disappointment, and i almost regret spending so much money on the dress, the hair, limo, etc. because it really wasn't that great of a time.

i think prom is best experienced in a GROUP of good friends, not nec. just with you and your significant other.

I'm planning on going to mine. I've already bought the suit (its for other things too) and accessories, now I just need a date!

My biggest problem is I'm in an extremely small graduating class. Any guesses? No, smaller? Nope still too big, try 24! :Q

The good thing is AFAIK there are 8 guys and 16 girls! Thats a 2:1 girl to guy ratio! I guess I can't loose!

This is probably a smaller micro-cosm of life, but you should do what makes you happy. Too many times you'll do stuff that people say "you have to do this" only to be disappointed. On the flip side, there have been instances of missing out on "the big party." Why do we do all this stuff? Because we all want to have fun, so do what works for YOU.

For me, a bunch of friends always went to these things so even though we had a date, we danced and drank (non-incriminating version) the night away at prom then came back to a friend's place and played board games till 6am. Then went to the beach and played in the waves in our rented tuxes as the girls ran away trying to save their dresses. Personally, I wouldn't have missed mine for the world.

If just a couple nobodies wants you to go, there isn't much chance of a great time unless someone has the hookup to something better afterwards. In this case, go out with some friends and blow the money on something that will make you forget that you didn't go to prom!

If you go and it's fun, you had fun.
If you don't go, you'll always wonder.

I think proms/formals rock. I go every chance I can!
