Doing the dual boot thing. Installed win2k on a second hard drive, a maxtor 20gb 7200 ata100 set as the secondary slave. Install went fine. after it was finished I installed the ultra 100 drivers and confirmed the install. Shut the system down and moved the drive to ide 1 as a master on the ultra 100 and now it won't boot to 2k. It brings up a screen about a disk configuration problem. I tried to install again with the drive installed on the ultra 100 and hit f6 to install the drivers from a floppy, but it wouldnt do that either. Any suggestions for a quick fix to get it to boot to the ultra 100? Do I need to boot to a win98 floppy, format and try to install 2k with the drive hooked up to the ultra 100 from the start? I'll take any help you got. Thanks.
Can't reinstall win2k with the drive on the ultra card since it won't let me install the drivers at the f6 prompt. Haven't been able to reformat either, the swap file on the win2k drive will not go away. The maxblast software won't do it, booting to a win98 disk and formatting won't do it, the swap file is still there no matter what I do. Anyone know how I can format the win2k drive or delete the swap file so I can reinstall with the drive on the promise controller?
