Promise Ultra100 to FastTrak100

Does anyone have any idea on how to change a promise ultra100 to a fasttrak100. Thank.

Don't the latest BIOS's stop modded cards from running?

I know the win2k BIOS they released for the fasttrak 66 would not work on a modded card somehow.

Sebfrost, pretty close. The latest bios for the FastTrak66 will work, but not with the latest flashing utility. You have to use PTIFlash ver1.04 that came with bios1.08. Last time I checked, it was no longer offered on the Promise site.

The directions on that page above say that you need to use PTIFlash 1.09 which comes with bios version 1.30 that you can get here:

Is that page wrong? Will that ptiflash not work? It looks like several people have gotten it to work and have posted pictures on their forum.

PTIFlash 1.09 will work as an upgrade after the modification. From what I understand though, PTIFlash 1.09 won't flash a card that is still recognized as an Ultra66. I attempted the flash with 1.09 and received an error. After flashing with the previous version, 1.09 then worked fine.

I'd be happy to be wrong about this.

Did you use the /Unlimit command line option? As in PTIFLASH /Unlimit ? Maybe that disables the check.. If you have the 1.04 flasher, can you email or ICQ it to me? Thanks

Sorry DeadMan0, we got a bit off-topic. PTIFlash ver.1.04 is necessary for the Ultra/FastTrak66 mod. PTIFlash 1.09 is what you need for the Ultra/FT100 mod.

Of course, I will send it if you still want it.
