I would have to make 2 ON shakes a day to get the same amount of protein.

You can certainly get your protein from whole foods only. Supplements just make it more convenient. It's much quicker for me to put 2 scoops of powder in my shaker with some water, than to cook up 2 chicken breasts.

Very true. I just try to get four decent meals in a day. I Quit taking protein powder years ago and have noticed no change.

Well, if you noticed no change, then you should notify everyone in the weight training world because they obviously have it all wrong

Is it very easy to isolate one part of the diet when used in conjunction w/lots of working out?

Also, how much relevance does the weight training world have with casual lifters on ATOT? 1.5g a day per pound (240g for me) sounds like more than my body can use...

Myoplex and whey protein are completely different things, Myoplex is a MRP (and thus also contains fats, carbs, maltodextrin/sugars), and contains mostly casein protein which is absorbed slower and takes about 7 hours (which is great when used at the right time), while whey is absorbed in about 30 minutes and should be used post workout to hit the muscles when they are in their anabolic state.

My ON whey doesn't clump in a shaker bottle with just water....but thanks.

I once swore I'd never use ON protein before as well like 10 years ago.
