I am trying to switch over from protein supplements to egg whites(just cuz its cheaper)
But im wondering how much proteins is contained in egg whites. I hear a normal size egg
contains 6-7 gm protein. But how much is spread between the egg white and the egg yolk?
anyone?

I don't recommend raw egg whites. Better to microwave them or at least cook them until they coagulate. Just too many germs inside them there eggs that you're risking.

how long to nuke them, because ive heard that if the egg whites are cooked , protein absorbtion by the body
is less.

Um...yeah...

If you watch any sort of documentary of a body builder, they eat like 17 egg-whites in the morning. They cook them too. Don't worry about the heat breaking apart the proteins, you're not trying to break them, you're cooking them. It's insignificant really.
They are great source of protein for you, and it's decently inexpensive. Only like $3 a day if you wanna eat 36 egg-whites. LOL.
Although if you really wanna get a lot of protein in you, buy some tunafish. LOL. Almost 50g / can, and it's hardly any calories. Only bad thing is the taste. Put some mustard in there though and it'll slide right down.

However, I think you'll save money and time if you get some protein supplements.

Peace,

Are you trying to gain weight as well? I noticed that all the fat is in the yolks, none in the whites.

Egg whites are heavily loaded in amino acids, the building blocks of your more complicated proteins. The egg whites are not heavily loaded with anything complex. You are cooking it to avoid salmonella which will make you feel like dying is more pleasant than enduring the hours or days of pain.

Tuna fish is good. Get the stuff packed in oil and use a light amount of cool whip or mayonaisse to flavour it up.

Be weary of the really bad breath you'll get from the heavy protein diets. As you intake proteins the body raises the acidic levels of your stomach and saliva to compensate. You can live through the acid by increasing your water take to about double the norm. Just be ready for some of the worst God awful heart burn you've ever had on occasion. Its going to happen! You can kills some of the heart burn frequency by eating large servings of cruciferous vegetables. The drawback of eating them is the heavy smell of urea in your urine. It really makes your pee smell ten times worse. You can counter that with something else in your diet, but that leads to another problem, and so on and so on... its an endless cycle of minor adjustments.

Body building is not as glamorous of lifestyle as the magazines make it appear.

a weight increase would be great, though not at the cost of increasing body fat.
my body fat is hovering around 13-14%. im 165 lbs . wouldnt mind keeping the same weight
or increase it by 15-20 lbs. But main goal is to decrease body fat to around 8-9%.
i think im doing at least 150gm protein a day.
How does animal protein compare with veggie (like tofu, milk etc) Do u think it matters
