Protests in Gaza

This was the inevitable conclusion. You have too many people who associate their identity to a small patch of dirt. There was never going to be a two-state solution. The Palestinian cause has always been a distraction, cast aside by more significant geopolitical forces in the region.

I don't think we've seen the conclusion yet by a long shot and frankly I have no idea how it's going to turn out. I imagine with a lot of blood though.

It is true though, I really don't see how a 2 state solution could work. So you make Palestine and then you have a country split in half with a no-mans land between it? How does that work logistically? What about all those Jewish settlements? What about all the refugees outside Palestine?

The only real solution is a single secular country with equal rights for all. It would solve everything, but no one will agree to it because their religion is better than the other guys.

The Israelis have the power. They've worked the illusion of a two state solution up the Palestinians' ass for 40 years, chewing off more territory every inch of the way. They're obviously fine with perpetual occupation. The radical Israeli settler faction, part of Bibi's support, would just shoot the fucking Pals if they could.

Not to make light of the poor child or the loss the parents are feeling but I've never even been there and I know that any protest in that area can very easily turn violent and deadly for grown men. I would never even consider taking a fragile and defenseless 8 month old baby anywhere near there. That goes 100 fold for anywhere that has guys with machine guns who I know will use them if the protest gets a little hinky. I couldn't imagine ever bringing an 8 month old child to ANY protest anywhere regardless of how safe I thought it would be.

No one is forgetting the West Bank and Gaza are essentially prisons. It’s also helpful to remember how they became that way. There is no two state solution. It was irresponsible to ever create the false hope of their being one.

The Egyptians are complicit with Israel in keeping the Pals in Palestine instead of opening their borders and letting them into Egypt and they do this so that they can have peace with Isreal? So if the Egyptians let the Pals in Israel is going to start bombing Egypt? And what exactly is Israel's motivation, wouldn't fewer Pals make taking their land that much easier?
