I never disputed the idea that Taj & Buckshot are morally bankrupt.

So why criticize me for point out the obvious? Keep in mind your argument is that trumpsters are merely misinformed or whatever, which is presumably why you believe providing them accurate information might have some effect.

Exactly right, in fact I bet you could check the word "hiatus" here in these forums and you'd see where he talked about it before.

We aren't talking about my understanding of a hiatus we are talking about yours.

The study that article was about confirmes that there was no global warming hiatus.

So why don't you do us a favor and spell out what you meant.

(Although I understand why you won't. Can't be caught with an actual position that will be crushed with facts. Gotta have a way to save face )

Taj & Buckshot are... how do I say it? Truly exceptional individuals.

So RSS who puts out their own satellite temperature data set just finished another set of recalibrations.

(Satellite datasets require many adjustments due to ever changing satellites, orbital mechanics causing measurement changes, sensor drift and others)
https://arstechnica.com/science/201...ecord-update-closes-gap-with-surface-records/

The new changes bumped up the trend over the last decade or so, bringing RSS into broad agreement with surface temperature data sets.
So what do these changes do to the overall record of global temperature change? If you’re eyeballing the graph, there is a visible shift over the last couple decades that raises temperatures a smidgen. That’s because the new time-of-day correction had the biggest impact on a rapidly drifting satellite in the early 2000s, the periods when one satellite was misbehaving were recent and because of the new satellites that were added in.

Taken over the entire time period, that increases the warming trend from 0.134 degrees Celsius per decade to 0.174 degrees Celsius per decade. (Yes, we are diving into decimals here.) That change actually makes the satellite record’s warming a tiny bit greater than the warming trend in NASA’s surface-temperature record.

Previously, the RSS satellite record has been a favorite of politicians who reject the conclusions of climate science because it showed less warming—particularly if you ignore everything before the warm El Niño in 1998, which looks even stronger in the upper air records...

So RSS was one of the data sets deniers liked to point to say the slower increase it showed was a "hiatus".

The other major satellite data set from UAH is now a bit of an outlier showing less warming than RSS and the surface data set.

It however still shows significant warming:

So who wants to point out the hiatus?
