PS for a new rig

Need urgent help:

Will 650W PS will be enough or I need to look for a larger PS?

Business Machine: Gigabyte X58A-UD3R with i7-950, 6GB DDR3, 1TB HD x2 raid, GV-N450-1GI video?

Any specific PS recomendations under $70?

Don't even need that much, This is what i have running my system and should be more than enough for yours unless you plan to upgrade that GPU waaaay up in the near future.

Corsair 550VX or Seasonic 500-600w unit would be fine. That antec suggested is also a good option.

No plans to upgrade GPU since this is not a gaming rig
But I will need to pick up something locally over a weekend form the local Microcenter

If you are picking up locally then it's better to check to see what they have available in that price/wattage range and then come back to us.

There are alot of cheap and total crap PSU's out there so be careful.

Stick with Corsair, Antec, Seasonic, XFX, and you should be ok.

They have about 30 different models in 500W-650W range, some way off my price range, some too cheap to make me worry.

OCZ isn't best know for their power supply, and since you won't be doing any SLI or xFire by any means, i would go with the Antec 500w:

OMG dude. $70. That's steep for a "Basiq". For that price, you can order an Earthwatts from Newegg.

I paid like $35 a peice for my 500W Basiq units at MC some months ago.

That's the price you pay for buying at retail stores, online is a whole different story, they go for around 50~ or less if you catch a good deal.

Retail Microcenter prices usually are not that bad, sometimes they have better deals than newegg, like i7-950 for $199, but I will not buy Basiq for $70 - It was on sale couple months ago there for $49

I would go at least 200w over what you are going to need if go with OCZ. OCZ makes mid range PSU's at best that tend to work very well if you only load them up to 50-60% of their capacity. They dont do well at all if you load them over 80% capacity.

Antec is solid in its price range. I would get it online and get a unit such as this:

By the time I was looking for a PS, they sold the case I was going to buy, so looks like I can order PS online now.
Will this work or I should look for a smaller one?
