I just replaced the extremely loud 80mm fan that was inside in PS w/ a 24CFM/21.0dBA Panflo fan. I read SnowPunk98's guide over at www.ocmodshop.com , but instead of drilling the hole in my PS casing to power the new fan, I disconnected the two wire lead from my original PS fan and spliced the connector to my Panaflo, making sure that positive was hooked up to positive and the negative lead was hooked up to the negative wire on the fan. I powered up the rig and it's quieter running w/ the Panaflow. I just want to be sure this is alright since SnowPunk98 made a point to drill a hole in the Antec PS to give his replacement PS fan juice. Thanks for your time

ya, i'm about to replace my fan in my power supply too.

I was wonder which methods is better, the only difference i can think of is that if u connect ur fan to the mobo, u can monitor the rpm of the fan.

SaiyanGoku, if the replacement fan you buy has the third wire needed for RPM monitoring, I would follow SnowPunk98's method, if you use a Panflo like I did, I would go the route I did as the 80mm Panaflo's do not support RPM sensing, hope this helps
