In theory it could be better than the Apple TV. Sony has their own music streaming service, and a video one as well IIRC. If they could only get the networks on board for TV apps.

I think they've been working on that for a while. The only problem is that the networks want to bring their bundling packages along for the ride. The same bundling that has caused cable tv prices to skyrocket and had cable losing millions of customers left and right.
