heck I went to Electronic Boutique in
Linux Mall (in Altanta, GA) and saw about
50 PS2's just sitting on the shelf (In there
storage closet). When I asked do they have
a pre-ordered waiting list they said no, but
I then asked why are all those PS2's are in
there storage room.

Guess what they said!!!!

"Oh those are one's for our waiting list, sorry."

1> you currently have a Dreamcast out now with much much better games and a larger selection?

2> and the XBOX right on the horizon that is going to blow the doors off the PlayStation2?

This is only an FYI. I know a lot of people are still looking for a PS2. Also Playstation dominates the market. It is backwards compatible and it also plays DVD. Forget about about Sega. What do you mean by a lot more games??? I don't think so.

In regards to XBox, I don't even think they can come close. It will take them awhile for the games to come abroad.

P.S. You got to remove that sig of yours.

guys...you make some good points about the PS2...I apologize for making such a senseless opinionated statement. I guess I had alot of built up rage in me ever since Sega announced that they canceled World Series Baseball 2002 for the Dreamcast and announced it 's release for the Playstation 2. I never really recovered from that trauma.

Again I apologize to all you PS 2ers

In regards to my sig, I'll consider changing it if you guys can come up with something witty for me to replace it with.....I have no problems with that as long as I have something witty down there.

Sorry to say virtuamike but GT3 was delayed.. it won't be out til June..

Sony also plans this summer to have their broadband+hard drive accessory out, which includes a 40G hdd. Price not known yet.

Why buy a Dreamcast when all the games out for it are all you'll get? Even the company who made them gave up, Sega couldn't compete.

And why buy an X-Box when you have a PC? Microshaft won't do well in Japan for sure. And it will be another year by time you have any good games for the console.

I am now waiting for the xbox.

There's always another console on the horizon. It's like computer stuff if you're always looking to next year you might as well never buy a system. I own a dreamcast and there are good games.. and eventually I'll own a playstation2 also because of games like metal gear solid 2. As far as the xbox right now its all hype just like playstation2 was and look how that turned out. Don't believe all the hype.. wait till the games are out.

Hey DarkFudge - I sold my dreamcast to get a PS2. I have one because I love sports games and PS2 has the best ones. And I am sane!
EDIT: After reading all the posts, I see that you have taken back your statement DarkFudge. For a good PS2 Bargains site and message board, visit www.ps2bargains.com -- that is where you can easily pick up a PS2 if your still looking/don't want to buy one right now.
Everyone that is predicting prices -- you are all wrong. You will never know how much something will debut at. Remember N64? People said it would debut at $250...it was $199. You can not predict prices...its just too difficult. XBox is going to suck -- Microsoft knows nothing about games!

as long as demand is about 50% of production, there is no reason for sony to lower their price.
maybe they'll have some kind of promotional bundle when xbox is out, but lowering prices...
$250 end of this or next year is possible, but $200 within the next 2 years...doubtful.
