PS2 or X-box?

RC7, although the PS2 does have an optical out, it does not do dolby digital in game on the fly. There are a few games that do dts in cut sequences (cut scenes) but that's it. The PS2 is incapable of doing dolby digital in game. The Xbox is the only system with this capability. GameCube can only do dolby surround II, which is a fake 5.1, ad not nearly as good as true 5.1 and your reciever has to support this technology.

Oh, I didn't realize that it was only in cutscenes. However, I do know that game developers can implement prologic II if they choose, for whatever that is worth.

One of my good friends is the manager at babbages and he says the PS2 Harddrive/Broadband adapter will cost ~ $29

Sorry, simply incorrect. NHL 2002, Pirates, and MOH (I believe a few more) have DTS in game. It's something EA seems to be doing.

Yep, and don't forget SSX Tricky has 5.1 DTS too.

Everyone says what great games XBox has coming out...I have trouble believing that nothing good was shown for the PS2.

My vote's still for PS2. Best games now, best games later (though I may have to buy a Gamecube for Metroid).

Xbox has clearly superior hardware. Classic's such as Halo, and Hunter cannot be played on any other console. Most big titles will be available for all three consoles. Why not play them on the best hardware?

And If all that's not enough. Microsoft has announced Xbox Live (Xbox Gaming Community) and has pledged 2 billion dollars to ensure Xbox's acceptance.

Xbox is the best, and it's hear to stay.

In my opinion Xbox is better because:
1)Much Better Hardware, PS2 is a little outdated now
2)Xbox is getting alot more games. Also, lots of games that are going to the PS2 are also going to XBOX.


But, I think you should just spend ur money on ur PC cause you will eventually get bored of the Xbox or PS2 and it will become a $200 paperweight. Whenever you get bored with a PC games you can us the PC for other stuff, but if you get bored of a console, it becomes a dust collector.

So in conclusion, you should not get any console because PCs are more useful, but if you must absolutely get a console, I recommend the Xbox.
