Holding off ps2 is easy but holding of dreamcast is hard. I sold my ps2 a month ago.

Yeah an XBox would be nice... but the PS2 is here and now. I managed to get a PS2 on day one (10/26) and it is so worth it. I sold my PS1 and have started a DVD collection since I've gotten it.

Good point. The dreamcast is an awesome deal right now. $120 bucks for the console and a bunch of games.

Unfortunately, I have a bunch of PS1 games that I can't play right now because I don't have the console.

Except that Bleemcast will probably never come out, as there hasn't been any word from them for awhile. Considering the way they dumped the PC version of Bleem, its not suprising.

Wow, look at all these monkeys.

I got rid of my PS1 because i bought a PS2. After investing $500 into it I only ended up with 2 games and a few accessories. It really wasnt very impressive at all so I dumped it to eB@y and picked up a dreamcast. Now that is a hot machine for the price. And since games/accessories are being discounted then i wont be spending nearly as much.

My theory is that the DC is the best system for now and it has more than enough games to keep anyone busy until XBox (or if XBox flops then the next PS2 pricedrop).

Oh, if youre gonna buy DC then stay away from PSO. It will rob you of all your freetime...

i'll definitely get a ps2 between march and april since that's the timeframe in which lots of great games start coming out.
i can't imaging ps2 being under 200 for at least 1 1/2 years so people who are delusional (no offense) just keep deluding yourself.

as to xbox, it's a hard call.
ms product, especially with its software inside... does it mean we have to run patches every 3 months, install service packs every 6 months, upgrade to a new system every 2 years???
to buy or not to buy...
not to mention, if they end up paying "xbox technology" to get the name, the charge is certainly going to be passed onto customers, unless they just call it ybox or zbox.

I'm not confident that Microsoft can get the xbox out this year (check out all of their windows releases).

Announcing vaporware always works for stopping others from buying your competitor's products.

I already paid $50 downpayment to reserve my XBox. It is supposed to be released Fall 2001. I also have a PS2 for free.
