PS3 available in Wisconsin (Madison possibly others)

My friend who is the manager at Wal*mart just called me and said they have 14 of the 60gb versions at the Madison East store.

Other Wal*Marts probably got some as well if you are trying to get a hold of one.

Yeah, the southern Maine Gamestop had 3 60GB PS3s the other day as well as Target having both models. Still can't justify the price though...

Not really a "hot deal". 3 at the Wally World by me yesterday when I went by the electronic section....a couple at 3/4 of the Gamestops/EV Games (see South Park) in the area....Best Buys are supposed to be getting a load of them this weekend.

The PS3 would be better if there was something other than Resistance to play at the moment.....

I saw several ps3's in EB Games in Austin the day before Christmas. There were also 3, or 4 wii's on the shelf.

I think they're everywhere now...Here in Tampa you can pick up a Wii pretty much anywhere as well as the 20gb PS3s. The 60gb PS3's are still a bit uncommon.

Up here in MN, it's the exact oppsite. I can find about 10 different PS3's 60gb within a 15 mile radius. But Nintendo Wii's, there isn't even one in the whole state. And a Wii is what I'm looking for.
Heya.....if anyone needs a PS3, and can get there hands on a Wii....I Would be willing to make a deal with you, trade wise.

Madison hasn't been quite as bad off for PS3s as for Wii's. I had some friends who scored 20gb versions without camping out and have heard from the EB guy on state street that they got some 60gb versions now and again that last a bit, but the wiis sell out instantly.

Nope, they were the real deal. I was in line purchasing Oblivion for my 360 and saw them up high on the shelf behind the checkout counter. I commented to the dude that was ringing me up that I was surprised to see them in the biggest mall (Barton Creek) in Austin and he said they had sold a couple that day, but after the initial wave of buyers in November sales had really tapered off for the ps3.

He said he was sure the wii's they had would be gone before they closed in a few hours, as they had gotten in about 20 the night before and sold 15 in about 4 hours that morning.

Btw, the ps3's were the 60 gb model going for $599 and the wii's were $299.

A coworker of mine went to the Madison west Best Buy on Sunday, Dec. 17th looking for a Wii. He got to the store at 6:00 AM which was of course too late, but there were several PS3s sitting on the shelves. Nobody seemed interested.

It appears that in Madison everyone's going for Wiis.

I've been playing on mine - it's a very nicely done system. Sadly, there are'nt a lot of N64 games up for grabs (yet.)

I Purchased a 360. Cant justify the price for a PS3 when they are both about equal (for now). I can not imagine being one of the people who paid like $3000.00 for one 3-4 weeks back. I would be shi*ting myself. Well, unless I had $ coming out my ass.

went to Gamestop yesterday they had couple PS3 instock. the sales guy said ppl lined up at the store not asking for PS3 but "do you have Wii instock?"

i thought that was funny.

Apparently, people wised up to the fact that you can get a $350 PC from office depot and $250 Wii, and have much more functionality than a $600 PS3.

Playstation3's sell out pretty quick anywhere in Atlanta, where I live, unfortunately. I am starting to wonder if I should just move away from this cess pool.

BTW, Resistance for the PS3 is incredible for multiplayer online gameplay if that's what floats your boat.

...why the frell would I want to pay big bucks for a bunch of blue-ray DVDs?

Seriously, though, very few people actually own 1080p TVs. 90% of HDTVs are 720p televisions, and not capable of utilizing blue-ray anyway. 480p, the resolution of a DVD, is more than adequate if you've got a good-quality screen and DVD player.

Blu-Ray is more of a gimmick than anything else - most people can't tell the difference, those that do require a hideously expensive TV to be able to tell, and I'd rather just play a DVD on a PC anyway.
