You didn't pre-order?
Yes I pre-ordered it yesterday lol!

In fact, I didn't actually planned on buying the game until a few friends said they were gonna buy it on PS3.

So this past weekend I bought a PS3, a couple of games and one headset with a mic lol.

So i'm gonna fetch the game in 2 hours before going for lunch and will play after work.

Got the game at lunch and almost bought the $100 Vault Edition something...

Anyways, played the first 30 minutes, kind of like an introductory to the gameplay, controls, story, etc. Coming from the PC I must say the controls are not that bad. A simple "getting used to" time will be needed but after only 30 minutes of play I'm getting used to the controller.

You strafe with the left stick and look with the right stick. Pretty efficient. Click the left stick to run. Plus the classic aim/shoot/etc controls from shooters I guess. Working well enough, even for a PC gamer . Same with grabbing loot, simply hold the !Square" and you lick up everything, or simply point and click what you want to loot.

Graphically it's ok. I only have a 37" 720p Sharp LCD and i'm hooked with HDMI. It's the max I can do with my setup but overall it's looking reptty well. There seem to be a weather system implemented and melting snowflakes on the screen is nice heheh! I'd say it looks on par with Borderlands 1 on my PC at 1080p and full settings...except for the jaggies on the PS3, but there's nothing we can do about that.

Each character have 3 skill trees where he can specialize or be a jack-of-all-trades. Minimal customization when creating your toon like 3 face models, some color scheme on clothes and the name. That's enough for this kind of game.

Gonna try playing with 1 or 2 friends tonight and see how it goes. I bought this game for that but I can see it being quite fun in singleplayer too.

Based on what you wrote, it sounds like you didn't play the first game. So, make sure to have fun with the humor... it's one of the best parts of the game if you play it solo!

I played the first game but no friends had it on PC the time I bought it...so playing solo was a PITA really. Cool game but singleplayer it's not as fu as with friends.

So tonight I played with 2 other friends...me at level 5, one other at 4 and the last at 2. Played for 4 hours straight on PS3 doing quests and having fun. Game is great especially in coop.

One thing that is really cool is that your game advance in SP and MP...everything follows and you don't have to worry about not completing missions or skipping stuff...as long as everyone is approximately the same level and don't mind helping you if you're behind.

The thing that I don't like is the loot. Sure there's plenty and it's awesome but when you play with someone that don't really care he ends up looting the blues and up and don't tell anybody. So you kill a boss with teamwork and you have 1 player that loots the best stuff and laugh in the mic...nothing is shared...1st come 1st served.

Be sure to play with people you thrust

Thanks for the link but the game is pretty straightforward and simple at it's core and except for the Tokens that I discovered when I had like 4 or 5 banked, everything is pretty simple and efficient.

Love the game!

One thing I don't get is how the coop questing works.

1) Yesterday we were 3 and questing around. We completed many quests in the starting zone. Today the same 3 log in and some of us still have the quests we did in their journal.
- For instance: Player 1 hosting the game. We're doing the "Bad Hair Day" quest where we have to get 4 "yetis" hair. Player 2 have this quest in his journal, we complete the quest and today it's not even showing in his journal in the Completed missions.

2) Quest Reward...we're 3 and only one can turn in the quest and this player will receive an item reward if there's one but not the other 2 that will only get XP and money.

Progress seem to save but not entirely.
Dunno if I missed something but it seems that coop is not really working?

If you know something more about how this works, please lemme know!

EDIT: Found this FAQ, it's very helpful:

How does experience and money work for co-op in Borderlands 2?
All experience and money are shared.

How does dropped loot and ammo work for co-op play in Borderlands 2?
Loot drops are not individualized. Don’t be a hoarder! Ammo is not shared.

How do quest rewards work in co-op play? Do all players receive the same reward?
Reward items for completing quests are given to each player. So if a reward offers a shotgun, and only one player turns it in, everyone else will have a similar shotgun added to their inventory.

How does quest progression work if the host player is further along than my character?
Lower level characters will automatically have their missions marked as completed during the session in which there is a vast level difference between players. You will keep currency, XP, and any loot you earned or picked up in the session, but the actual completion of the story mission must be done again in your single player game.

How does game progress work?
Game progress is shared between all co-op characters in a session so long as each character has progressed to the current story mission. If guest players are on the same story mission as the host, story progress will be saved in the guests' and host's campaign. Story progress will not be saved for characters who have not yet reached the host's campaign mission. Basically, you can't skip missions by playing co-op. You can still participate in the mission and get experience and loot, but if you go back to your single player game - you'll still need to complete it again. The player with the least story progression should host the session, that way they won't miss out on any story elements.

Do enemies scale based on the number of players?
Enemy levels are based on a number of factors including the area and host player level. When more players enter the game the enemies become more difficult. They also drop better loot!
