PS3 launch title is Unreal Tournament 2007

Thought you'd like to know

we finally have confirmation from the January 2006 issue of PSM. UT2007 will indeed be coming out for the PS3. Furthermore, they plan on launching the game right along side the console itself, perhaps as early as this coming spring.

This is actually the second game from Epic to be allocated to the PS3. Gears of War will eventually be coming out for both the Xbox 360 and the PS3, but its release date is still a little foggy, could be any time in 2006

Probably for the US launch, but I can't see the Japs go wild over UT2007, they seem to like games with characters with a 6 year old face with breast the size of watermelons and has purple hair.

They really should have done a FFVII remake exclusive, it's such a no-brainer. I'd already have my money down on a PS3 if they did that.
Instead it's UT, which I can play on my pc...

there's going be more than one game for the launch . . . UT2K7 is just the 2nd confirmed game.

I hope it comes out for the Revolution too. As much as I would like to play UT2k7, I can't imagine playing it on a normal controller. I tried Unreal Championship 2 for xbox, and I simply can't get past the 2 analog sticks, its just nothing compared to a mouse and keyboard. The Revolution controller would hopefully allow us to play FPS's on consoles they way they are meant to be played.

I've heard the game is getting around 49fps on a high resolution on the PS3 without any optimization...so its no wonder this will be a launch title...

Considering the graphics cards they have in the next-gen boxes, I'm not surprised. It helps that they have some multi-core code in there, which is the tricky part of next-gen programming.

Reportedly Microsoft is coinciding the Launch of Halo3 with the PS3 launch. Should be interesting.
