I was thinking the same damn thing. If supply exceeds demand then return the damn thing! Sure, you may be out some time but it's really a no-lose venture.

I signed up with RossMANs PS3 website, but when are places like EB and GameStop taking Pre-orders?

Also, is it one per person, or one per family, or one per address? I am going to get my mom and sister to pre-order PS3s as well, just so I can maximize the number I actually get my hands on.

Usually its 1 per person/per household. I will be signing up for 2 at eb and 2 for gamestop under 2 different addresses. Then I will also have some friends sign up at each store.

They also usually go by phone number, so you can use a cell phone for one and a home phone for the other if you're getting 2 at 1 store under the same name.

Answer: Not nearly as much as the 360. The PS3 will go on sale in Japan first, so there will be a number of units resold in America long before the official launch.

No. The PS3 will launch in Japan in the Spring (May according to this GameShout piece) with the North American launch occuring later in the year. I'm thinking fall or early winter.

I didn't pre-order more than one, because I thought there would be more instock. I was going to pre-order 3 or so, but yea held off and held off until it said sold out.
Then my only chance left was Walmart, Circuit City online, and some other place. BestBuy was hell as the line started wayyy earlier than I have ever seen. Earlier than even BF. But BF these days suck anyways.

First day my local EB gets them for pre-order I will fill out as many pre-order slots that they will let me, buying up to 5-7k in consoles. At a minimum if I can't turn them on ebay for a decent profit I will just return them

I relize this but I work out of town, I work in 2 different states over pretty much 1/2 of each state, so its possible for me to get one everywhere I got, and I work with alot of different people so they will let me use their info to get them. Don't ask me why I stated it like I did in my first post, guess I was too lazy to explain myself

Nah, doesn't suck at all. Then again, it doesn't supplement my income...it is my main source of income. I work part time, 20-30hrs, in retail while I'm in school and I make more money reselling sh!t to ignorant folk on the internet.
