Gah... I still can't decide if I want the download or BR version!

Does anyone here have the BR version yet? What is the extra "video content" that is on the disk?

My personal non-PS3 owning opinion, the BR version is worth it only if you want the bluetooth headset.

That's kind of where I'm leaning now. I actually already have a BT headset, but was considering the BR version simply because $60 for the game and the headset is a decent deal. I also sort of like having the physical box. But the more I think about it the more the convenience of not switching discs sounds more appealing. Especially since this is the type of game I'll probably put quite a few hours in over a long period of time.

i think i'll download it, but i dont have a headset so i'm thinking the blu ray is a better deal. altho, i hear that its basically the lowest end jabra headset.

i need a new BT headset cause mine is MIA...and the game....for 60 thats a pretty good deal, cause its basically a $20 headset with a 40 dollar game and this way I can bring it over to people's houses if they have a ps3 or in the uneventful timing of upgrading my HD or formatting it or something the DL time..

I just bought the BD. I wanted the headset and the physical disc/case/manual. I also don't like the idea of DRM on the download version. I'll be playing quite a bit this evening.

Also worth it if more than one person will be playing and you don't want to mix up your stats.

I got the game yesterday and played when I got home from work. This game is amazing! Warhawks are incredible, but difficult to master.

I want to play this game, but my friend probably won't get it because he doesn't have broadband at home. He brings his PS3 here to play stuff/download online.

Maybe I'll just rent it so we can try it out!

I bought the BR version so that I would not be limited to just one account playing it.

REMEMBER: If you download it, only the account you downloaded it on can play it (No other accounts, even other sub/master accounts on the PS3, can play it).

That's my main reason for getting a physical copy of the game, as I share my PS3 with my brother.

Also, we needed a better headset.

I've only played split-screen online, and I had a lot of problems getting into games (gave me a bunch of crap about the games being full, and I had a couple freezes). Other than that, it's great...it takes a bit to get used to, but it's pretty sweet.

If you're having issue with the game freezing, try disabling the media sharing in the PS3 options. I was actually kind of surprised to still find that issue around. It was an issue in the beta and disabling the media sharing helped some people a lot. I've got mine off and haven't had a freeze yet.

what do you guys mean by changing discs? i only got one disc?

People are referring to having to put in a disc at all. Say you're playing a different game and then decided to play Warhawk. You have to go swap out discs if you are using the BR version. If you buy the download you can just start the game from the dashboard without swapping any discs. It's just a convenience thing.

so i picked it up and this game is definitely a system seller...
looks like a steep learning curve, ill need to pour another 10 hours in before i experience everything but looks like a good multiplayer

Well, I played for a good 6-7 hours last night... The game is by far the best thing I've tried on the PS3 to date. There is a learning curve to the controls, especially since I've never played an fps or anything of the sort on a console. But, after a couple practice rounds in unranked servers, I found myself never going below .500 in the ranked servers so I must be doing something right.

I don't like the headset at all, It gets uncomfortable pretty quickly and it will only go about 4 hours on a charge.

Great game but I purchased via download before finding out about the one account issue. Unfortunately this really is a big pain in that my son wants to play. He likes a different control setup then me so of course this means anytime either of us wants to play we have to go in and change up the controller scheme etc....

I'm all for Piracy prevention but not allowing a sub-account to play really is throwing the baby out with the bath water I know I will not be purchasing any other content from PSN from now on until this gets fixed.

Headset is nice and actually the clearest but I was having some hurt on my ear from it! gonna try to try adjusting it a little bit

Now to the game, I must say it looks like a next gen title, and has some great animations and I noticed the collision detection is on par as well. It feels more to me like an arcade-similar to UT2k4 shooter. Looks like a good balance between vehicles and weapons for the most part. The auto-aiming is a little weird to get used to as well.

As for flying with the warhawk-I definitely use the sixaxis because it allows me to aim, but still steer the hawk around. Very weird, kind of like patting your head and rubbing your stomach! Seriously something that will take a while to master, but you definitely feel like a pro when you pull off your first kill! I'll give it another week but the learning curve looks real steep and was a huge turnoff if you are a casual gamer at all. I also had to reverse my sticks because aiming is usually done on the right stick while in FPS/Third person but changed when you were in the warhawk!!! so I switched that back. definitely dont be afraid to change the control scheme a little bit-there is a lot to master!
Now if I could just allow motion for my warkhawk but not for the tanks/jeep!

Given the learning curve, I will need to give the game quite a few more hours to get a grip on the full offering.

Ah, I'll try that tonight. Any solutions for the "game is full" problem?

I played 2 matches last night and this game just feels very VERY generic. I'm pretty sure I will not be purchasing this game, unless I find it used for like $20 or so then maybe I'll consider it.

In the games I played, you started with a measly little pistol and does absolutely no damage. If you were lucky enough to get out of the spawn point w/out getting killed by some tank or a much more powerful gun, it got semi decent.

However the game just had a very generic feel to it.

EDIT:

I see some of you who love this game also have this as the first "FPS" (move w/left analog, aim with right analog) you have played on a console. I can tell you there are plenty of better FPS games out there than this game.

I do wish I had more time with it though because I didn't get a chance to get into any team matches, only FFA's which were definitely not that fun. I'm sure team games are tons better.

I don't know... I've played dozens of FPS on both console and PC and I love this game. I have no problem with the pistol, you just have to be prepared for the fact that it's only good as a short range weapon. It's not an overpowered long-range headshot machine as are pistols in far too many FPS games. And you can choose to where you spawn unless your team is down to your home base, so you can usually avoid being dropped into a big fight if you choose wisely.

No, that's a lazy thing. Convenience would be if Sony installed a 5-disc changer in the PS3 (which thinking about it now, I'm surprised Sony didn't try to stuff that in there, too ) .

I've played MANY FPS games (PC and consoles). I just can't deny that this game is very solid and very fun. Generic? Well, it's not revolutionary...but I haven't had this much fun playing games in a LONG time.

So far this is the only game that does it. In fact, it says so on the purchase page when you buy it off the store.
