In the games I played, you started with a measly little pistol and does absolutely no damage. If you were lucky enough to get out of the spawn point w/out getting killed by some tank or a much more powerful gun, it got semi decent.

However the game just had a very generic feel to it.

I see some of you who love this game also have this as the first "FPS" (move w/left analog, aim with right analog) you have played on a console. I can tell you there are plenty of better FPS games out there than this game.

I do wish I had more time with it though because I didn't get a chance to get into any team matches, only FFA's which were definitely not that fun. I'm sure team games are tons better.

I've played MANY FPS games (PC and consoles). I just can't deny that this game is very solid and very fun. Generic? Well, it's not revolutionary...but I haven't had this much fun playing games in a LONG time.

Yah I wanna give it more of a try, and I think the fact I didn't play any team games hindered my opinion.

As that other guy said that if you have a team, you will spawn with them. Well that wasn't happening with the FFA. I was spawning with everyone else, and you could basically sit in the spawn area and kill people. It was pretty lame.

It reminds me of battlefield 2142 more or less and team is the only way to go, find yoruself a good group of guys to run with and tear it up that way taking points, and having some good firefights. the deathmatch free for all is just there cause i see those games as practice with aiming and flying etc. the real excitement is on the team play

I've had good experiences in teams and solo. With solo, you really need to make use of stealth. Since you disappear from the maps when you have your knife equipped, that helps a lot.

I enjoy cleaning up the skies by myself. I grab an RPG, equip the knife, go somewhere with a good view, find a target, use the RPG, and quickly switch back to knife.

Also, you can jump in a turret, fire for a short bit and then hop out and hide behind it with your knife equipped.

If that's the case, then one of those 'better' FPS games sure as hell isn't Resistance...

Warhawk is like a love child between Unreal Tournament and Battlefield, and seems as addictive as Counter-Strike ever was.

I think the 'Zone' type of game is my favorite. It's a bit different than the tried-but-true CTF, TDM, and DM matches. It's fun advancing your teams territory and squeezing out the other guys from map control.

you should try again, everyone is saying otherwise. from the reviews i read the other modes are great. I picked up the game but had trouble getting into a server (hawaii ftl), gonna have to wait for others in hawaii to pick up the game maybe. ill try again tonight. i might pick up some more controllers and try some splitscreen lan this weekend, but i dunno, 3 more controllers just for this one game.. .hrmmmm.

You don't have to move with left analog, aim with right analog. The vehicles, flying the most notable can be accomplished almost entirely by moving the Six Axis around.

Yah it was funny how I got to play it actually heh.

My friend bought it and was going to share it with me, and after I had downloaded it on his account he realized it cannot be shareable and that was that.

So I tried to start it from my account just to see what happened and yah, it wouldn't let me.

Then last night I tried one more time - but this time it let me actually play! Turns out I had it auto-sign onto his account when my PS3 booted, and I thought I was in my account.

You are allowed to use it on the same account on different PS3's if it has been more than 24 hours since it was last played. Since he hadnt played it since the night it came out, I got a chance to get 2 rounds in.

Then mid-way through my 2nd game, it booted me off cause he signed onto his account. I then broke the news to him that I had accidently played it, and that he would have to wait until tonight to play it on his machine heh.

And the funny thing is, that this was 100% completely an accident.

Use the d-pad to pick a different spawn point.

Well, after buying this last week, I've put in a couple of online matches. This thing is hard to just pick up and start playing, and the main reason is the controls. Why are they so complicated? I cannot understand why you need 2 analog sticks and 2 buttons to properly move and fire the tank, it's unnecessarily hard and awkward to use to in the middle of combat. I also don't understand why you have to hit a button to switch between flight and hover mode in the warhawks. Can't you just give me the throttle and sticks and let me do what I want when I want? And having to let go of the movement stick to reload sucks, even if it is for a split second. Overall, the controls just feel unresponsive at times, while other times they feel pretty good once I get the hang of them. The movement is so much faster than what I'm used to with.....ummmm. that other game on the competing system, that it's hard to get the hang of.

But other than those gripes, it seems like it will be pretty fun if I ever understand what I'm doing and get the hang of shooting accurately. So, a couple of questions for the vets:

1.) Is there any way to simplify the tank controls? I didn't see that you could, but I'm holding out hope.
2.) How do you lock on with the appropriate weapons on the warhawk and the rocket launcher while on the ground?
3.) I think I saw someone grab the flag and hop into their own jeep to drive off by themselves. Is that possible in this game, that you don't need anyone else on your team to drive when you have the flag?

That's it for right now, but it seems like I had a few more questions that I can't remember off the top of my head that I will ask later.
