Hey I didn't say anything about dingin me up for what I was doing which was under 40 mph.

It's completely bogus to ring me up for doing nearly 50 mph through his little podunk town when I wasn't.

Should I have gotten out and pushed the Van through this little ass town?

Radar/laser detectors are also useful, though small towns will often cite bogus pacing methods in gauging your speed.

Small town cops are what triggered Rambo into his killing frenzy. Make them fear you. Use your Stallone voice when you get pulled over.

phoenix is hardly small, and those methods aren't bogus. they are tried and true, and more dead on than radars are. there are airplanes flying patrol between cities here in the mountains, you will get pulled over up to 30 or 40 miles away from where you were speeding. and the charges will stick.

i admitted i was doing 47, since i thought it was a 45 zone. they told me "well, you were speeding either way, and you are taking the traffic course to fix it.

does it really matter that it says 57 instead of 47?" good point, i paid the school fee that was the same regardless of the speed written and have no points. done and done.

I doubt this little town has a traffic school but I will ask.

Guess I'll find out if they recommend getting out of your vehicle and pushing it through their town.

So what small town are you a cop in writing bogus revenue only tickets???

I support speed traps.

There are speed limits for a reason. I just got my first ticket (via 'speed trap' aka well-hidden cop car) in more than 4 years... and I deserve many more than I've gotten.

I was speeding, and I deserve my lumps.

Actually no I do not admit to speeding. If I was doing 4 mph over the limit, big fcking deal.

Show me the safety issue with that. Show me justificaton for speed trap.

There is a HUGE fvkin difference between 4 mph $32.50

Vs

12 mph which is $92.50

How bout you send me the difference since you love bogus entrapement so much and pay my higher insurance premiums too.
4 mph is still speeding. for all you know your spedometer is off.

Figures, Georgia

Even in Nascar they have a 5 mph buffer for pit lane.

Surprised you don't know that being from Georgia

uh huh. nevermind i wasn't born here, don't watch nascar.

i hope you throw one of your tantrums in the courthouse and they toss you into jail. life isn't P&N, just because you've been tolerated here doesn't mean the rest of the world wants to hear your crap. you'd think your last brush with the law would have taught you that, but some people never learn.

Read my post again. If you try really hard and read all the way through to the end, you might see the part where I disagree with how the cop acted. It's near where I say your actions in this matter will be futile.

I guess you're too consumed with self-righteous anger over the ticket and giddy with excitement about the opportunity to trash rural towns to get to the end of my post.

You've got way too much free time, dude. Videos, building a website, bitching about it for weeks? Quit researching this crap, get a part time job, earn $300 and pay a lawyer to make this go away. No more higher insurance. Or, continue on your crusade and end up nowhere but paying your fine and with points on your license.

I havn't recieved many tickets but I thought that if anything was wrong on the ticket (spelling of name, license plate number, etc) that it was grounds for dismissal. So the fact that the court date is wrong may be enough to get out of it.

Though I could be wrong.

It would save time.

Good point. And I suppose the kids dumb enough to run into the street would be weeded out quickly enough.

what happend to you was bogus, happend to my mom too...wrote her up for doing 60 in a 45 when she obviously wasn't....speed traps are cool if they're fair and honest, but as we've seen, they're not always.

Now, according to your story, this guy's not enforcing the law, he's going well beyond, and that I do NOT support. The problem, however, is that proving either way is expensive.

That's why there are lawyers that specialize in speeding tickets, and even the bloated fines they 'negotiate' on your behalf to reduce the violation to a non-moving one are less expensive than proving the cop wrong.

OK, so what small town Lawyer will do this?

Also it seems highly unethical to get the "moving violiation" changed to a non-moving one.

Especially when it;'s the original moving violation that's bogus and buillshit to begin with.

Wow, abdicatiing double bullshit. What a messed up "system.

If he wrote the wrong date shouldn't that void the ticket if you show up on the correct date? He was obviously trying to lie to you so you would show up on the wrong date.

The cop was a prick, but most are, so there isn't much to discuss there.

It's most likely president bush's fault, or republicans in general. Karma is a bitch.

Actually the 15th does correspond with the March Thursday court date they had but it is clearly a 4 not a 3.

They only have court once a month.

It better not have been set for court 5 days later.

A little humor to break up a not so funny subject:

Lawyers should never ask a Mississippi grandma a question if they aren't
prepared for the answer.

In a trial, a Southern small-town prosecuting attorney called his first witness, a grandmotherly, elderly woman to the stand.

He approached her and asked, "Mrs. Jones, do you know me?²

She responded, "Why, yes, I do know you, Mr. Williams. I've known you since
you were a young boy, and frankly, you've been a big disappointment to me.
You lie, you cheat on your wife, and you manipulate people and talk about
them behind their backs. You think you're a big shot when you haven't the
brains to realize you never will amount to anything more than a two-bit
paper pusher. Yes, I know you."

The lawyer was stunned! Not knowing what else to do, he pointed across the
room and asked, "Mrs. Jones, do you know the defense attorney?"

She again replied, "Why, yes, I do. I've known Mr. Bradley since he was a
youngster, too. He's lazy, bigoted, and he has a drinking problem. He can't
build a normal relationship with anyone and his law practice is one of the
worst in the entire state. Not to mention he cheated on his wife with three
different women. One of them was your wife. Yes, I know him."

The judge asked both counselors to approach the bench and, in a very quiet
voice, said, "If either of you idiots asks her if she knows me, I'll send
you to the electric chair."
