I've been getting notified by B&N that I have some money from buying books for my daughter. It isn't much, so I haven't bothered looking. Besides, class action suits make me feel sleazy. It's not honest like armed robbery, or drug trafficking.

Information for 2016 Apple eBooks Antitrust Settlement

In November 2014, a federal court approved a Settlement of antitrust lawsuits brought against Apple, Inc. (“Apple”) by State Attorneys General and Class Plaintiffs about the price of electronic books (“eBooks”). Those settlements resulted in credits for qualifying Kindle books purchased between April 1, 2010 and May 21, 2012. These credits are funded by Apple.

Eligible customers do not need to do anything to receive these credits. If you are eligible, we have already calculated your credit for you and added it to your Amazon account. As long as you have credit remaining we will automatically apply it to your purchase of qualifying items through Amazon.com, an Amazon device or an Amazon app. The credit applied to your purchase will appear in your order summary as a gift card during checkout and in your account history. I'm not one to buy that much on Amzon though. A few things here and there and if I want an MP3 I'll buy it from there.

Only $7.85 for me. Will put it to good use, though: have one Thermaltake Riing fan (out of 3 pack) that was essentially DOA (lights up but stopped spinning after a few hours). Should halve the price of a replacement.

$62.64 in credit and it allowed me to put it towards a Vornado fan for some reason. They charged the difference to my CC and the fan shipped today. Cool!

I was pleasantly surprised to see I was credited $30. I assumed I was getting very little because an earlier email from Amazon informed me I had been credited $1.39. I guess that was just the first of many small credits that were added.

Time to buy some more ebooks I guess.

Nothing in Amazon, but they gave me a whopping $1.57 at Barnes & Noble so you might want to check there as well.
