Exactly. Seems like quite often the most vocal opponents of something (homosexuality, pedophilia, etc.) end up being into it themselves. I think the psychology term for this is projective identification, it's one method of coping with unwanted feelings.

I'm not talking about everyone opposed to certain behaviors, just the ones who go out of their way to make sure everybody knows how opposed to them they are. I've never hated gays. I don't give a shit either way. I do however have a hatred for people who's lifestyle adjusts things like lisps, pitch of voice, and the desire to act like complete 12 year old girls.

For example, if I were to make a statement: "I may not agree with the actions of a leader, like Bush or Hitler, but I can generally find some area where they also had a positive impact." From that, it looks like I am directly comparing Bush and Hitler. That may not have been my intention, but because I used those two as examples, they are now linked in the minds of anyone who is listening to my argument.
