Pretty cool, 40W equivalent, 429 lumens, 5 year warranty.

Cant really argue with it. LED with 5 year warranty? I mean, damn. I use LEDs in my grow box, wouldnt go with anything else around the house now. Lower electrical usage, life span smashes traditional filament bulbs...and for $20? For 5+ years? Steal.
429 lumens, 8.6W.
50 lumens/watt.
Fail.
Getting there, though! Let me know when they're up to over 100 lumens/watt, and at least they'll be competing with compact fluorescents.
I was just about to post the same thing. Not quite enough light to be really useful, and this one uses more power than a CFL of the same brightness, and costs far more than a CFL. LEDs are really the way to go in the future (I build them into my instruments that I design). But, LED based home lightbulbs aren't quite ready yet.429 lumens, 8.6W.

LED in a grow box? What are you growing and how does it effect your bill?
Green. And no, doesnt effect my bill at all...much better than the HPS bulb I was using (1000 watts!)...were talking MAYBE 60 watts total for the LEDs...and I yield a better crop with them anyways. Plus heat is a major factor in going to LED...that big ass bulb would make my room feel almost like a sauna...
for the cash crop...
Whats power/heat output? LEDs are working fantastically though in either case. Whats price too? My LED arrays probably cost me around $150.

Yah, I've been waiting and keeping an eye out for actual useable household LED replacement bulbs. Nothing out so far which sucks. Not sure why it is taking this long to get them to the market. It's not like the technology isn't there.
