Jose Cuervo Clasico or Especial is vile for shooting/sipping and should be avoided unless you're mixing. There's now a Jose Cuervo Tradicional that is 100% agave, and while it doesn't compare to the more expensive tequila's, it is better tasting, and less hangover iducive, than Clasico/Especial.
More good tequilas mentioned in this thread.
