I'm certainly confused. You just randomly quoted a post that had nothing to do with politics and start talking about politics. What's going on here?

you are confused.

he was making a joke, nothing more...unless he doesn't like al franken for his politics vs just making fun of him being a professional humorist.

I get it, in a way.

But we've had many professional clowns serve in office:
Ventura
Shwarzenneggar
Franken
Reagan
Carrot Top
etc.
EDIT: OK, I read his response and you're right: politics.

ewwwwww.

let's banish him to P&N for 2 months!

Unfortunately, with the "say what you want" nature of social media, politics does tend to bleed into all facets of the Internet. That's not what this thread is about though. This thread is about people wasting their money on an extreme long shot.

:hmm: I once made sure that place remained a shit hole, you are welcome.

Also I wasn't precisely being political, nothing about votes or stances (which is why I mentioned voting Burnie), just glad i'm not represented in the Senate by an semi-literate Guy Smiley.

... though I can see how this could be a hate-speech against muppets.

They finally came forward:

http://www.latimes.com/local/lanow/...winner-steps-forward-20160719-snap-story.html

Speculation surrounded the identity of the Chino Hills ticket owner for months. The January jackpot was the biggest in U.S. lottery history, and the two other winners, from Tennessee and Florida, came forwarded within days of the drawing.

A Pomona nurse mistakenly believed she owned the winning ticket after her son pulled a prank on her.

But the Acostas opted to stay silent until they got their affairs in order, said lottery spokesman Alex Traverso.

“They did all the stuff we hoped they would… they got a lawyer, made a plan, got everything squared away so they could get their claim and sort of disappear,” he said. “They’re going to fall off the grid. That’s going to be an interesting challenge.”

Off the grid, even though their names are already out there. GL with that.

Even though it is the law in states like CA, can't you actually have the winning ticket named to an LLC or trust or something like that, so that you can still manage to keep your names directly out of the papers (which would weed out most of the chaff that would actually want to kidnap/murder someone...)

I guess it's not as easy as I assume because they apparently lawyered up and took a damn long time, so it's probably something they tried but it wasn't really possible.

Damn shame, too, it shouldn't be a part of any state lotto that the winners are required to be named. If corporations can hide their names behind a dozen false SuperPACS to hide campaign money, why can't regular folk hide their names from very real people that very much want to do them harm?

That's a good point.

RossMAN is holding out on us!

You're right, let's split up the $15 winnings by 88 shares - CPA/tax/attorney fees - taxes = $0.05 each

Ed McMahon will be at your door tomorrow with a monster sized check, yes I know he died in 2009

Update posted with a little surprise

I have 5 separate .jpg files that I’d like to merge into a single 5 page file, what’s the EASIEST way to do this without Photoshop, etc.? Looking for a simple, quick and easy solution.
