Deal and cash flow isn't a problem as long as I'm fully reimbursed and I'll even cover the PayPal/venmo fees. I would like to have $10 minimum buy in and option to buy multiple shares, what do you think?

Can you setup something on your domain so we can take this conversation offline? Don't send a mass email yet, I'll PM you tonight.

Yeah, PM'd ya. venmo is 100% free luckily...and they did not seem to care about it being for lotto funds... $10 minimum again as well.

When is the next drawing? Isn't it tonight?

Friday.

Powerball is Wed/Sat. Mega Millions is Tues/Friday.

and a good reminder: This is MegaMillions, NOT Powerball. (these are usually powerball lottos because they tend to have the larger/faster growing jackpots)

Thanks zinfamous, megamillions never gets this high I don't think.

I don't recall if we tried this last time, but do we want to do 'shares'? IE if someone gives $20, they get 2 shares of the very unlikely chance we win? Or are we good with one user, 1 share @ $10 and no more?

I think one or two of the ATOT lottos did Mega because it hit that $370-450 million mark some years ago?

It grows slower because it's a 1 dollar ticket vs 2 dollar for Power Ball. It's usually $5mil+ between draws, but it just jumped more than $50million after last night's draw.

Just shows how many more bought tickets.

I'm fine with shares. We did it at least once before, but I think the 1 billion lotto was a 1 share max?

I'm for people being able to choose, but I agree that it could lead to a shitstorm if the improbable happens.

just takes one butthurt single-share purchaser to be jelly of the multi-share members....

works for me...i'll send the email out, you guys can pass it on to whoever wants to buy in! Don't have to be AT members.

One thing we allowed in the past, if you are married, or have a bf/gf you can send in $20 and get two shares that way...but that will have to have separate emails, so I can contact you individually.

I was wondering about this, for tax reasons.

I recall that in past discussions, there is "some way" to funnel the money (that we absolutely will win) into a holding that will be taxed once, then distributed equally to all pool members without having to face taxes on each distribution. So, with that situation, I would hate to have to be taxed on splitting my share of distribution--because we will win this thing, obviously.

DUH!

We will most likely spend some funds on a tax lawyer to help do the distribution properly, we do not want anyone getting hosed here, and keep it all legal .

I think you need to move to Bitcoin transactions

I wouldn't mind it, but it seems to fluctuate to often, and I haven't been in the bitcoin game since 2011, so I don't know where to even cash out at anymore.

I am still pissed at myself, I had a few hundred bitcon from mining back in 2011, but I don't know where the wallet went... back then it was like 10 btc for a pizza or something. So nobody really took it seriously, and neither did I, haha.

You can do something with coinbase where you accept bitcoin of a given USD value and it's immediately converted.

Though, I'm not sure if it's viable for casual use like this, or only commercial use.

I thought we weren't allowed to do this on AT? Also, can I just do a $5 buy in? I don't have much spare cash at the moment but would like to be a part of this.

*Cough* we're not, this is purely hypothetical *cough*

I'd still prefer a $10 minimum buy in or $5 with option for multiple shares

Perhaps Vivi can setup a quick surveymonkey to see what the majority would like in regards to 1) minimum buy in and 2) multiple shares?

ATOT minimum wage only: if $10 is > .01% of your income: don't waste your money!

If you don't have $10 in your paypal/venmo account then maybe you shouldn't be gambling.

How the heck did you join in 2000 when you are named after a south park episode from 2006?
