PSA: New Dell 700m Announced

Dell just announced the 700m and here is the article.
Not sure if this belongs here or in SFF but I wanted to get your guys' opinions on whether there are going to be any hot deals for the 600m, now that the 700m seems like its either a replacement for it or maybe the 300m? It's got a 1.6 or 1.8 Pentium M, 12.1 WXGA, and is only 4.1 lbs. No serial or parrallel ports. And all the other options pretty much. So would you guys say this is supposed to replace the 600 or 300 or neither and Dell is just adding another line? Hot deals for 600m forthcomming?

Looks good. I've been happy with my C840, but it's about the heaviest laptop you can imagine. I'm considering getting something smaller the next time around. (company hooks me up every 2-3 years)

I believe it's a replacement for the 300m which also has a 12" screen. The 600m currently has a 14" screen.

Thanks for the info but this does belong in another forum since it's not a Hot Deal.

It will be a tough choice choosing a 700m or Latitude D600. Of course I'm still holding out for my alltime favorite laptop, Compaq X1000 those are simply bad ass.

Mods, please move if neccessary. I'm wondering if this system is trying to compete with the powerbooks which have the widescreen technology but not neccessarily on the 12".

this most def is not a 600m replacement.
The best quality of the 600m when it came out was the mobility 9000 radeon with 64m vram. It was the most pwrful video chip in a 5lb lappie at the time.

The intel EXXXXXTREME graphics + 12 in screen puts this in a different league altogether.

thats what i thought too, and if you look in Dell Sb the 600m and 700m are there, but no 300m. Has SB ever sold the 300m?
