I thought it was made with real sugar, lol shows how much I knew

I thought Coke was made with real sugar and Pepsi was made with corn syrup. And "New coke" was Coke made with corn syrup, which sucked, so they had to switch back to real sugar.

It's all corn syrup. As a matter of fact, there are a number of conspiracy theorists who believe that New Coke was a ruse that was intended not only to fail, but to serve as a cover so that Coke could discontinue Coke with sugar and "reintroduce" Coke Classic with corn syrup but people not noticing the difference after having their taste buds assaulted by New Coke...

They sell the Imperial sugar Dr Peppers at most grocery stores here. I am guessing that is the same thing as the Dublin Dr Peppers.
Unfortunately, Dublin Dr. Pepper is explicitly not sold elsewhere, that's part of Dublin's agreement with the Dr. Pepper corperation(they basicially split at some point in time). Now, the fact that you're in Texas likely changes things and is why you have it; I for one have never seen a sugar-based Dr. Pepper for sale anywhere in a store no matter where I've been.
There are several stores in my area (Ft. Worth, not far at all from the plant Dublin) that sell it, I just drank an 8oz bottle a few days ago. Heck there is a Chicken Express that sells it through the fountian.

Mmm.. Fountian fresh Dublin Dr. Pepper. *drool*
Fountain DDP!? I hate you. :|
I think I'll have some tonight just for you.

Moo.

Update: Just got off the phone with a guy at Baker's, he said their Coke rep told them it'd be coming in next week sometime. Makes sense I guess, passover doesn't start until next Friday.

If you want to call stores in your area, ask for "kosher for passover" coke and pepsi products.

Just be careful, the sugar soda fizzes up alot more then the corn syrup ones. ALOT more. It's much thinner.

For those of you near St Louis MO. There is a soda named "FITZ's" which still uses pure cane sugar. I have not had a decent soda since I left there. There are serveral flavors including a wonderful "Creme Soda" , "Grape" , and an "Orange".

If you are near there and want to know what a soda used to taste like without the sticky, slimy aftereffects of "HFCS" Give it a try.

the logic and reasoning for the over 14 eating meat thing is indeed for nutritional purposes. even if the rules are possibly a little ridiculous at times, that same argument could be made for any religion, act of congress, those who have positive opinions of dave matthews as a human being or musician, or anything else. so if it works for you, go for it. in addition, many people did not eat meat on fridays at any time during the year, but once vatican 2 started to modernize the dogma in ths 60s, that was slowly phased out. i just remember in high school on fridays during lent they didn't even sell any meat. of course it was a catholic schol. im 25 now so it wasnt that long ago.

Yep, fish sandwich day was friday at the school cafeteria.

I've always heard that the reason for not eating meat was to remember Jesus was the sacrifice for all of mankind - which makes sense with the theme of lent.

Over 14 seems like an odd age to set... are you sure it might not be because most children in the US go through confirmation at the age of 14-ish ? If the child hasn't gone through the act of affirming, as a now adult, that they wish to be Catholic it seems odd that they'd be required to stick to fasts/special diets they don't understand.

I thought most catholics didn't get confirmed until they are 18? At least that's how the catholics I knew did it.

I was confirmed when I was 14. My mother was confirmed when she was 10.

I'm Jewish and while not offended at the comment, I'm more surprised that we have our own Coke!

I'm Jewish and that's a little bit oversensitive IMO. It doesn't bother me at all.
