I have a 1996 Pontiac Trans Am with an LT1 5.7L v8 and a 6 speed t56 manual tranny. It cranks just over 315 hp (exhaust and intake non-stock) Black with Black leather interior. Sporty indeed.

You are almost as bad as that gun nut guy here. What's his name? Spec Ops 007? This is Off-Topic, not American Muscle Cars dot org. Every one of your post topics are about how you love American cars, how you hate imports, how to detail your car, how to fix up your car, and flamebaits like this one. Enough already man.

No, no it is not. Sporty is not adding a fin and getting 0-60 up to 6.0 seconds from 6.3.

Anyone who disagrees must be a Honda or similar car owner. Too bad it is not sporty, must suck if that is what made you buy it.
0-60 in 6.0 is pretty respectable for a car that is a LEV, gets low 20 to low 30 MPG, and isn't a chore to drive - on regular gas too. They handle reasonably well, but maintain good ride comfort. It is sporty for its class, regardless of what you say.

No. The Corvette is a sports car. An Escord ZX2 is "sporty".

"Sporty" means any car that is reasonably fun to drive but is not set up or designed for maximum ultimate performance (e.g. a "Sports Sedan"). I would consider my Volvo T5 "Sporty", but it's about as far from a "Sports Car" as one can get. My 951, however, is NOT "sporty", it's a Sports Car through and through. Kidney-pounding ride, road and engine noise that can drown out the very basic stereo, steerable with the throttle, temperamental, etc.

FWIW, my Mustang was neither "sporty" nor a "sports car" either. Even with the V8 the Mustang is a muscle car. Different category entirely.

V6's* cannot "scream." That is all.

Damn marketing and japanese fanboys. Discuss.

***V6's meaning the ones in a non sporty (as much you want to believe it is, sorry it is not) Honda and does not apply to any other V6's that will be thrown into the OP's face as proof that they do, including but not limited to TT V6's. V6's built for races, or BMW inline 6's.

Why are you so angry and who are you exactly angry at? Theyre good all around cars and thats what they are made for. Nobody is claiming them to be anything but that, if they are then they are just as moronic as you for posting the obvious as a PSA.

Get over it idiot
I am angry over the fact people think (as quoted from a thread today) that the V6 Accord "Screams"

Maybe if it was Stevie Nix screaming.

It does scream. Your car growls. Low-displacement Japanese cars scream.

No. High-revving, high hp euro cars scream. Not low-displacement every-day Japanese cars with fart canons that you see, they shriek like girls that are being stabbed in the back on a cold winter night in a dark alley.

Doesn't scream but it doesn't feel like you're driving a boat either. The v6 gives it a smooth ride with little noise. but i guess your cobra is sportier, congratulations

first up, Honda Civics and Accords are a lot nicer and more expensive than they use to be, so I wouldn't consider them 'econoboxes' if you want an econobox, look at a geo metro, neon, or something that costs far less than the 18k for civics or 21k for Accords.

IMHO, Europe's got the styling card now.

I'd say Japan has been copying European styling for a long time now. In one way, I respect it as shrewd...in another way, I loathe it as soulless.

Reading others opinions and caring about them are two separate things.

OP comes off as an elitist bastard, and if theres any type of post thats going to draw massive disdain, its THAT kind of post.

And a manual V6 accord coupe could certainly is "sporty", although just barely.

Well I guess it's because I'm used to driving a muscle car because that vette sure seemed sporty to me My Z could about keep up with it in the straights, but in the twisties I'd have been in the ditch at those speeds. My car is worse on the kidneys though...

My wifes Caravan is a "sports edition" and it is niether sporty nor fun to drive, but I suppose I get your point. Sporty is an objective word.
