Top Gear UK: The Season Finale You Almost Didn't See, airs on BBC America Monday July 13 at 9/8c.

The boys return in the super-sized Season 22 finale on July 13 at 9/8c.

Upon airing, we will all be witness to the end of "the best" era for petrol heads IMHO!

It's already been all but confirmed they're starting a new show on a competing network. I've heard both ITV and Netflix. I'm learning towards ITV because they want to air it in the exact same time slot as the new Top Gear to really kick the BBC in the teeth.

It'll be all the glory of Top Gear in everything but name. Probably even better because they'll have more creative freedom and produce Andy Wilman is sticking with them.

If they give a negative review, they could lose that sponsor and hence a lot of money and possibly their jobs.

From what I've head, Netflix is currently the strongest standing. There's been rumours that they've been in talks with Amazon as well. Though Netflix has a far greater international presence.

The kind of cars they normally review would not be advertised on ITV. That's irrelevant though, they can't go to ITV. The guys had non-compete clauses in their contracts that are in effect for 2 years after they leave Top Gear. They're prevented from doing a car series on UK television until spring 2017 at the earliest.

A streaming video provider such as Netflix doesn't violate their non-compete clause since it isn't a UK based company correct GagHalfrunt? Just 'asking and hoping!

Correct. They could do Netflix or American TV or Pakistani cable, just not anything on UK television.

Seems odd that a non-compete in their contracts would work after their contracts expired?

In the US they are simply a scare tactic and get thrown out all the time.

Yeah, I never really liked the delay between BBC airing the showing and having to wait for it on BBC America. "Hey, just wait two to three weeks for us to cut out content so we can show you commercials!" :thumbsup:

I still haven't watched the final episode though. Is it good? I think I heard that it was comprised of the final pre-recorded bits pasted together.

I liked the final episode. It's basically just two long challenge segments; cheap classic cars and cheap SUVs. Both segments are entertaining. There's no studio bits at all, no news, no additional review films, no interview guest, no hot laps; nothing but the challenges. And they're entertaining enough.

That delay always messed up my DVR schedule (I've heard the info is from Tribune)
It shows this episode as first aired on 6/30, so my DVR never catches the actual American 1st airing unless I set it to record all episodes.
