Huh. I do like it, without that I've seen the picture look like crap, but I'll definitely give it a try. Thanks Tom!

I'm with him 100%. I hate that shit. I've only bought 1 TV since that tech became standard and it was the first setting I turned off. I hate how it's on by default.

If I wanted to watch something that looks like live content, I'd watch live content.

motion interpolation looks good for a few seconds, and then it stutters and looks like crap. no thanks.

I love my Vizio, but I sure do tire of their "120htz Effective* Refresh Rate".

*FAKE

Basically whatever refresh rate tvs say they have, halve it for the truth.

I remember when this first came out, gave me a motion sickness like feeling for some odd reason. I disable it on my home TVs.

My friend had an early 120Hz TV. It was one of the cheap brands like Insignia or Dynex. The motion interpolation feature was on by default and I noticed bizarre artifacts within moments of trying to watch a movie ("I, Robot" starring Will Smith). The character was running through the streets and you could see a strange shadow effect behind him. We turned the feature off almost immediately.

I ❤︎ motion interpolation!! Looks great for sports and animations!

That said, I hate over-saturated colors and the teal and orange color scheme much more. Some films go over the top with it, that I cannot even watch the film. Cannot stand orange skin, pink lips umpa lumpa characters in even scene.

The first thing I do with any new TV is turn off all of the "image enhancing" features. With few exceptions, they all make the picture worse. They're mostly there to make them stand out in the store. Brighter, sharper, smoother, and more colorful sells, even if it's fake.

I turn it off so I can see Tom Cruise running the way it was intended.
