Also, I am pretty sure the old skin is still somewhere in there. Can't you see anything in options-skins?

Again, after getting lite, my Skins folder was EMPTY. Hand to heaven.
but now, it is normally populated and NORMAL AGAIN. Hadda jump thru a coupla hoops, no biggie.

News reports out there that AOL found a buyer and the shutdown that was supposed to be today isn't happening. Buyer is as of yet unknown.

This....is THRILLING.

Do we think it's MS who bought it???

If so, from now on will it require a COA?:sneaky:

Hopefully MS bought it, they should have done it off the bat and tried to improve their audio software across the board.

When someone posted this possibility early in this thread, I thought the source, the article that person linked us to--- was viable. But who knows? Hopefully, an announcement will be made soon.

What I am unclear on, is assuming it is MS who bought it, how will this work with W Media player (which I have never used ever in my life, cause i always felt it was pathetic)???

I am already envisioning some erosion of what Winamp has always been, perhaps also being asked to install Bing Toolbar, etc. to download it, etc. Only partly kidding.

I've been using Winamp since version 2. I still have DVDs and CDs with much older versions of Winamp going back TO version 2.

Untill somebody else comes up with a better playlist manager and the ability to Windowshade the UI into a smaller space than a window titlebar, I'll never use another media player.

For future reference, if you are on Windows Vista Professional or Windows 7 Home Premium, you can simply check the "Previous Versions" tab in the Folder Properties dialog box and restore the folder to a date that had the skins in it.

Also, IMO, the default "Classic" skin is the best.

ABOVE, the most succinct delineation of EXACTLY how I feel I can imagine!
Tho I always expand the GUI cause I like it bigger.

I did not know this!! Cept, I am running W7 Pro. And, I spent insane time looking all over the place for my skins after getting the lite. See, my take is, the lite really did away with the previous installation. At least, I think. But who cares? Burning the proper folders to Cd in my backup drive and loading them into the drive I usually boot into.....restored the glorious normalcy of my Winamp.

Also, IMO, the default "Classic" skin is the best.

I can almost not believe there is another human who feels this about the skin in question! Cause everyone is into glutted up and pseudo cool!!!! Over time, I must have checked out hundreds of skins, making them is a whole subculture, after all.....I hated all of them, cept ours!!!!
