It's still not working for me.

I'm connected to the net, but it won't let me sign in to PSN and stops netflix from playing anything.

I don't know about you guys, but I was still able to use Netflix. I turn the PS3 on, launch Netflix, and it prompts me to sign-in. I try to sign-in a couple times and if that fails, I just hit Back to clear the sign-in screen, but Netflix is still up & loading. Shortly thereafter Netflix loads and I'm good to go. Takes all of 30 seconds

That used to work for me... but no more. Can't watch anything now.

That still works, I just tried it and am watching a movie now. :thumbsup:

Sony has finally admitted that the PSN outage was the result of an attack or "external intrusion" as they call it. Still no word on how long PSN will be down.

It really doesn't matter. After the 1st attempt, sony will forever use the external intrusion excuse for all network issues regardless. There servers get destroyed in a fire or something like that, network goes down they'll blame it on others.

Just FYI - Sony posted on the PS Blog last night that they are rebuilding the PSN infrastructure. That's a sign of a serious breach.

Rumor from PSU is that the attack was so bad that it actually damaged servers and Admin Dev accounts were hacked.

I think they will give you a FULL refund for your free PSN access.

This is actually bad timing. I just bought Mortal Kombat and wanted to play online. Should have got the 360 version.

Well, considering PSN is free....

Anyways, when Xbox LIVE suffered from a prolonged outage, MS gave out a free XBLA game. It was a mediocre at best game though.

Did you forget that you don't pay for PSN? They may give something to PSN+ subscribers, but I doubt it.

Most people aren't naive enough to believe that PSN is free. I bet if you think about it, Sony figured the cost of PSN into the price of the console, or at least had a plan for recouping any money they have to spend to implement PSN. It is implied that you can play online when you purchase a PS3, isn't that something you are paying for? You may not be charged a monthly fee, that doesn't mean you didn't pay for it.
