I'm An Xbox live user and I am amused at this thread.

Darth Vader, "The wine is strong in this thread."

You have got to be a real POS if trolling this thread is all you can find to do. Does your mother know you act like this?

The "wine" part is hilarious and just enforces the stereotype that XBL users are retarded children.

Yes, your mom got you a 360, so it's clearly superior and the PS3 is just shitty shit shit. Go play Halo with the other children.

See how generalizing makes you sound like an idiot?

Let's get back on topic before I start exerting my Mod powers. Don't make me angry. You wouldn't like me when I'm angry.

I actually thought about the post-Christmas Live problems from a couple of years back. I believe there were a lot of good anecdotes in that thread about how Live users were paying for the lack of service when PSN was free and running beautifully. Would probably give a good chuckle to go back and read through that thread now.

I remember that. And I remember how MS actually came out and gave information of what was going on and what they were doing to fix the problem.

At least Sony could give us an ETA on when they will have everything up and running. :| It's down, fine. Now when the hell do you expect to have it back up?!

Ok, it's not good that the PSN is down. Even worse, it has been down for almost a week. And EVEN WORSE, Sony is not giving us ANY information. Seriously. WTF?

Sounds like they are finally saying that personal information may have been breached:

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2011/04/26/update-on-playstation-network-and-qriocity/

We have discovered that between April 17 and April 19, 2011, certain PlayStation Network and Qriocity service user account information was compromised in connection with an illegal and unauthorized intrusion into our network. In response to this intrusion, we have:

- Temporarily turned off PlayStation Network and Qriocity services;

- Engaged an outside, recognized security firm to conduct a full and complete investigation into what happened; and

- Quickly taken steps to enhance security and strengthen our network infrastructure by re-building our system to provide you with greater protection of your personal information.
Although we are still investigating the details of this incident, we believe that an unauthorized person has obtained the following information that you provided: name, address (city, state, zip), country, email address, birthdate, PlayStation Network/Qriocity password and login, and handle/PSN online ID. It is also possible that your profile data, including purchase history and billing address (city, state, zip), and your PlayStation Network/Qriocity password security answers may have been obtained. If you have authorized a sub-account for your dependent, the same data with respect to your dependent may have been obtained. While there is no evidence at this time that credit card data was taken, we cannot rule out the possibility. If you have provided your credit card data through PlayStation Network or Qriocity, out of an abundance of caution we are advising you that your credit card number (excluding security code) and expiration date may have been obtained.

EDIT: As far as an ETA for service restoration:
We have a clear path to have PlayStation Network and Qriocity systems back online, and expect to restore some services within a week.

Think I'm just going to call my credit card company and have them issue me a new card regardless. After this and the monoprice incident Amex must be thinking I've rented out a billboard and pasted my credit card number and expiration date on it.
