Huh? Pretty sure he isn't defending pirates. Sounds like he is defending Sony, if anything...
I've gotten a lot of crappy products from Sony over the years, had a PS1 I ended up having to turn upside down to get it to work, a VCR that died on me literally 3 days after the warranty was up, a TV that died not that far out of warranty, I got no love for the company, but I do think apples-to-apples, the PS3 is pretty great. The OtherOS option was nice I guess, never used it, and every time I talked to someone who did use it, they just bitched about how limiting it was compared to running *nix on an actual PC.
I just think defending a group who's only solution to whatever injustice they feel like has been done to them is to DDOS the shit out of some servers or expose private information and encourage identity theft of employees that work for that company is putting energy into supporting a course of action that will only lead to Sony closing down their system even more.
If you support anarchy, you support stuff like this. Once you grow up, get a job and realize there are bigger things to be concerned about than whether or not you can run some crippled copy of Linux on your game console, you tend to be a better person for it.
Not you directly by the way, just in general.
