PSP.. can the new PSP slim do all the homebrew stuff the old one did?

My brother had a psp for a while until it got stolen.. I had a lot of fun 'hacking' it to get it to play homebrew, downloaded tv shows, etc..

Now I kind of want one again.. But, if I get a slim version, can I still do all the same homebrew stuff or does the psp slim prevent it.. or is it incompatible?

You can do the same stuff as long as you have the right firmware.

You need to get your hands on an older model that's already been hacked before you can do anything to the slim model.

Just get a Pandora Battery Kit from someone. It takes about 15 seconds to install the 3.60 hacked firmware that plays anything you want.

Sorry to be OT, but I have a psp since launch and have bought tons of games but it has been collecting dust for nearly a year. I play my DS much more. I have been hearing about the things one can do with a psp but have never delved into it. I did turn it on about a month ago and did the latest FW upgrade. Is there a special site for this info? I have a feeling this topic is taboo on AT.

And the latest I've heard, you still need another PSP to make one because it won't work for a slim. Has that changed?

I had heard that pandora's battery still works for the new one, it just doesn't fit in the case that the slim has... thats what i heard, but i guess if mlm knows that it doesn't... alright then...

You need a "fat" PSP (with custom firmware) to make the pandora's battery. Otherwise, there is no way you can downgrade or install a custom firmware on the Slim PSP.

Or you can order one from Ebay...

You can make a Pandora's Battery without another PSP if you are comfortable with a soldering iron.
