tough decision, personally I have both, DS with r4 and a psp with custom firmware. for killing time I probably use my psp more, lumines and puzzle fighter, I can play those games for hours and hours. also like others have been saying, you can play some of your favorite(and all time awesome oldschool) ps1 games on it. the DS is ultimate fun with friends and all the multiplayer mini games and all that, but I dont find myself playing the single player games much.

I definitely won't be playing with anyone else. Can anyone point me to exactly what I need to know to hack the PSP slim? Can I buy a Pandora battery anywhere, because I definitely don't have access to a PSP with 1.5 on it.

I bought a new slim PSP today. My hands hurt, my eyes are screwed up from staring at the screen for 5 hours straight, and the battery died in the middle of a game without warning, but I love it so far.

The LED should flash when the battery is dying.

i have the ds, with like all of the good games,
and then i have the psp slim with almost all of the games that i've heard good about, i have to say the psp is better, not just because of graphics, but the games i have there are much better, and longer than the majority of the games that i have for the ds.

You may like "Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters". Also, there's a Castlevania game coming near the end of this month that looks to be great... and it will also have Symphony of the Night on the disc too.

psp just came out with final fantasy tactics war of the lions which for me puts it over the top, plus the larger wide screen really does it for me, I dont want to use that damn secondary screen frankly.

I have to say both handhelds are pretty good but I would go with a DS (I know you already went with a PSP but other users might be in the same debate).

There are just so many fun games on the DS, like Mario Kart, New Super Mario Bros, Pokemon, Elite Beat Agents, Zelda, Metroid Prime Hunters, Meteos and if you have the luxury of importing, Jump Ultimate Stars is an amazing Super Smash Bros-like game and there are so many more.

The Dual Screen is alright at times but what makes the DS shine is the touch screen (honestly it should be called Nintendo Touch or TS or something, dual screens are really too much of an underwhelming feature to be the DS's main selling point). It is pretty versatile for a variety of games, the control scheme for Metroid Prime is downright the best control for a shooter after a keyboard and mouse, strategy games like Heroes of Mana and Age of Empires are pretty easy to play and of course you always have your d-pad and buttons for games like NSMB.

Plus you can't beat that 129.99 price and most games are like $30.

Also check out the two Syphon Filter games, Dark Mirror and Logan's Shadow. I loved the first 3 of the series on the PS1.

I have Jump Superstars and it's not that good. I hate how you have to use your thumbs on the bottom touchscreen to call your friends, so you practically HAVE to have a guard on your screen. I also didn't like the Naruto game for the PSP which plays kind of like Jump Superstars.

I've been playing Jump Ultimate Stars but honestly I've only been doing it with a few friends and its wicked fun. Don't know how the game holds up in single-player.

The repertoire of characters is amazing and the gameplay is more fun and wackiness oriented than games technique-oriented like Virtua Fighter or Bleach.
