a little searching through the archives led me down a winding path of nostalgia.
i found a thread that celebrates JWMiddleton for hitting 500 wu's.
i found all the old threads about the race with ElFenix, Mucman, SilverBack, phiton, Tuffguy, blade_47, kb0ogt and poopaskoopa to 2000 work units.
oh, and asslaminator, do you remember all the razzing about you switching your herd over to other people's accounts during races? i found some posts about that too:

that's september of 2000. amazing how our production has increased, isn't it?
so, i hadn't found any news about when i joined yet, but i also found some old stats that had me averaging 15 wu's per day and that put me at like 25th in the team for that week. crazy. yeah, those days are over too.
finally i found a solid hint. on september 12th i posted this:

so, according to that post, i joined before the summer of 2000. i joined the forums in march, and i moved out of the dorms in mid-may, so i bet i joined sometime in either late march or early april. wow. oh, i also found a thread celebrating your 1 year anniversary with set. i of course took the opportunity to hassle you. i think i had joined in august and you in october. it was ok though because you just hassled me for joining the forums a little later than you.
that was a lot of fun searching through all of those posts. it made me remember how involved i was with seti and this forum. i used to post like 20 times a day and now i just lurk most of the time. my output used to be so great, too. i just don't have the access to a large amount of machines like i used to. i think at one point i had about a dozen or more machined crunching away for me. now i just have two. maybe when my girlfriend moves in i'll set seti up on her computer too. we'll see i guess.
