i like how all of the vehement anti-smokers are so certain of the personality and intentions of all of those who smoke.

It must be a wonderful thing to be able to see into the heads of complete strangers and understand who they are, why they do the things they do...just like that!

you're all a bunch of fucking douchecanoes.

PS: I don't smoke cigarettes. hate 'em. I hate you crazy anti-smokers even more, though.

Actually, it is very easy to see into the psyche of a smoker, if you can't do it it's because you are exceptionally stupid.

It's and addictive habit that once you have procured the habit brings you nothing but misery. There is no upside to smoking once you have procured the habit, it doesn't make you feel anything but how you would have felt if you hadn't started smoking, there is no high and the only reason it ever feels good is because you are satisfying your habit to feel like a normal human being again.

It's probably the most useless drug on earth and developing a habit is so quick that anyone can do it unintentionally.

So basically, after you are addicted nicotine does absolutely nothing as long as you get it, it's when you are without it you are not feeling like everybody else who are not addicted are feeling.

It'll age you faster, it'll bring on a whole heap of diseases, it will eventually kill you and in the mean time i have to put up with your ugly face, your yellow bad teeth and your horrendous stink.

I don't mind the smell of burning cigarettes but the stench of old cigarettes is terrible. My mother in law smokes like a chimney and we don't wear anything to her house that can't be thrown in the washer.

Sure, it's their choice to do what they want but it's equally my right to say that I don't like the smell. The only time I really dislike smokers is when they don't bother to ask if anybody minds before lighting up or they leave butts lying around. Lighting up without bothering to ask if the people right next to you mind is about as polite as ripping a foul fart in a crowded elevator.

I've watched both my parents kill themselves by smoking. My dad can't even breath and half his heart has died. My uncle has an oxygen tank he uses between smokes. Maybe they would of just found some other way to screw up their lives. Who knows. What a sad and pathetic way to live life. Your last years spent hooked up to an oxygen tank. Not only that but my dad will die soon and he's barely 60 years old. Should be healthy and still enjoying life.

They're exactly comparable. A lot of food is cancerous to breathe over time, and that's not counting acute allergies. Diesels are proven to have higher ground level pollution compared to gasoline engines. Leaf blowers are useless by every single measure, and have the unique ability to offend every sense, from sight, to sound, to smell. Add in the cancerous exhaust, and it's just the perfect item all around.

The problem is it's become ok to discriminate against tobacco users, so all the self rightious twats feel the need to do so at every opportunity. If you eat meat, drive a car, live in a house, wear manufactured clothes, operate a computer... You can just shut the fuck up, because you're harming your health, my health, and pissing me off. You're not living any gilded life, and the choices you find pleasure in, are harming someone else.

LOL careful, stretch that bullshit any further and it'll snap back into your eye.

LOL Good grief at some of the pro-smoking responses. Actually comparing a carcinogen they knowingly blow all over their lungs, clothes, cars, other people and even their own fucking children - to the smell of vietnamese food. LOL. EPIC.

We know whats really going on here right? The smokers are just defensive, possibly even surprised and hurt to hear what everyone else actually thinks of them and they are lashing out. They *KNOW* theyre wrong so shitty insults and bullshit comparisons are all they got. Admit it.

You guys are just the typical whining non-smokers that I hate. I didn't smoke until I was 19 and never had a problem with smokers, being at smokers houses, etc. Sure it isn't the most pleasant smell in the world but it isn't THAT bad. I'll take a girl that smokes over a girl with a BO problem any day.

lol why are those your only two choices?

also, you ever smelt someone who just drank a few beers? you have huh? what's the difference?

I can smell them but it sure as hell doesn't get on me.

Looks like we have a few sensitive smokers here

I'm in the "smokers smell disgusting" crowd. I was even commenting to my wife last night how pathetic it was to see you dependent ashtrays shivering your asses outside desperately trying to get that sucker lit when it's 15 degrees and the wind is gusting at 30 miles per hour. It's a shame there isn't a mirror close by so you could witness the scene for yourselves. It's hilarious and depressing all at once, and I know of one guy who quit cold turkey when he saw his reflection in a window while pathetically going through the motions above.

I grew up in a smokers' household, and when I moved out I vowed never to live with a smoker. I dismissed a chick or two in college when I found out they smoked. Not only do I see it as a sign of weakness (like alcoholism), but it's just. fucking. disgusting. You wreak. Your clothes wreak. Your car wreaks. The spot you were standing in 5 minutes ago fucking wreaks.

This. I didn't know my roommate smokes (never told me) but he opens the window and smokes. I can come in an hour later and smell it in the living room. Thankfully he only smokes 2-3 times per night and since the window is open it and we have central air/heat doesn't linger permanently.

Could be. Growing up I had many friends that smoked, that seems to be a common thing in the South. Hell, in college more people were smokers than non smokers at the school I went to.

did you go to UNT?

on the stank level chart Vietnamese food & Indian Food >>>>> Smoke. I smell smoke all the time, and I'm pretty sure I'm not going to get lung cancer because I smell smoke on a co-workers shirt.

What's really going on here is you want to regulate, legislate, and pussy whine all the things people do that annoy you, but feel no need to reciprocate because you're above that. You're better than everyone else. You're smarter, better looking, and know better how to live everyone else's life. Get off your little pedestal. If you even took a second to look, you'd notice your pedestal is really just a shit pile ;^)

Btw, I don't smoke ;^)

smoking is just a habit that should never be started in the first place. most smokers that end up quitting for good usually agree to this.

Really? You got all THAT from my post? That obvious overreaction just confirms to me at least that my views on this subject are correct.

I used to smoke regularly. I still have the occasional cigarette due to a gift of rolling tobacco a couple xmases ago, but I don't have to. I didn't smoke for months before that gift, and when it's gone, I may or may not get more. Likely not due to the cost. While I guess it isn't true that I'm a non-smoker, I am for all intents and purposes.

Dude, you're the one that found it necessary to create a thread. I couldn't give a shit less what people do, but I will call out hypocritical bullshit when I see it ;^)

you all realize that quitting smoking is harder than giving up a heroin addiction?
Cigs are the only drug you can crave by seeing someone else consume one.
I really have to quit already.

Meh... You're right, but I don't consider someone a smoker if they can effortlessly go without smoking forever. I wouldn't be smoking at all if I wasn't given the tobacco as a gift.
i could tell by your vehement support of smokers that you were one even before you slipped up and admitted it.

who gets tobacco as a gift anyway?

I'm for individual rights, and for people SingTFU regarding other's life choices regardless of whether or not I participate. The tobacco wasn't specifically an "xmas gift". Somehow it came up on another forum, and a guy who had horded it away in the freezer offered it to me, and I accepted. I like the occasional cigarette, but not enough to buy it. That worked out well, and it looks like the 400g will last about 5 years :^)

I don't think this thread was about the "right" to smoke. It was about how smokers smell awful.

Anyway.... amazing you got some free bud from a stranger on a messageboard.

I'm not sure how the thread branched tbh, but it's a subject I take seriously. It's bullshit that discrimination has not only been accepted, but encouraged. There's a few other subjects that'll get the same vigorous defense from me that I'm 100% not personally involved in. That's one reason I don't go to P&N. I can take the occasional pissoff, but I'm not in the mood for it day after day :^D

Yea, it was a very generous gift :^)
