I talked to my dad, he said back when he was a teenager just about everyone in his town smoked. And those who didn't never complained about the smell. My Grandma said basically the same thing.

LOL

lxskllr's credibility = 0

You really are dumb as fuckin' brick. The fact that I smoke a cigarette or less per week doesn't negate a fuckin' thing I said. Watch out for your shit pile pedestal, you're starting to sink....

Mostly because most adults smoked back then. Now that we know what smoking does to a person, the majority of people do not smoke, and those that do are easily picked out.

It's like when your house smells...you can't smell it because you live in it every day, but if someone else walks it....PHEW!!!!!

Not everybody smoked, even if it was 3x as many as do now. That left 40%'ish percent of the population who didn't smoke. My dad did and he said nobody who didn't smoke ever complained to him about the smell. You'd think with 40% of the population not smoking somebody would have spoke out. Now we're to a point where idiot non smokers will say shit like they were sitting in traffic and could smell the cig the guy 3 cars ahead of them was smoking thru their cars vent.

So here's my take on it. Smoking is absolutely disgusting. I feel that people who smoke MUST be dumber than the average person (and that's pretty fucking dumb). People who throw their butts everywhere are inconsiderate assholes. There is no positive result from smoking. Smoking is universally accepted to smell AWFUL. A persons cologne is a preference, some people like it, some people dont. NO one likes the smell of a smoker.

In short, when I see someone smoking I immediately judge them. They are inconsiderate, weak minded, stupid, disgusting individuals. That judgement may be right or wrong, but I have a feeling a LOT of people judge smokers that way. If you want to be judged that way, while also harming your health, that is your decision.... but don't be surprised when we insult/hate on you, because we fucking hate your habit.

Cheers.

Speak for yourself, I'm not a smoker but I actually really like the smell of fresh smoke, and the lingering smoke smell I could care less about. I don't like or dislike it. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean everyone doesn't. Most of my non smoking friends are like me and could careless one way or another about the smell. Replace smoke in your rant with Curry and I'd say the exact same thing you just did except about Curry.

Nearly 1 in 2 adults smoked in the 60's. Now it's down to around 15%, which makes it very uncommon. Also many states have banned smoking from restaurants and public buildings. Since it's been taken out of the environment, the majority of the people are now sensitized to how bad it smells.

I know I can smell someone smoking while waiting at a red light that's 2-3 cars ahead of me.

Really? You're sure you can smell someone smoking a cigarette 2-3 cars ahead of you, above all of that engine exhaust, especially considering how that person is not blowing smoke in you direction?

I find that hard to believe.

I can also. Not every time of course, but if the wind's right, I can smell it distinctly.

I never smell car exhaust, unless its a hoopty. Most folks drive well-maintained autos with functioning catalytic converters. Fuel is much cleaner and purer than even 20 years ago.

I can pick out a smoker at a stoplight 2-3 cars ahead if the wind is right. Absolutely. I can do the same while driving at 45mph 6 car lengths back if the person is smoking pot in the car. Yes, even with the other cars windows closed. Its not exactly hard.

I can pick out a smoker within 100 feet of me if the wind is right.

Just to re-iterate, you guys stink. Its not a good smell anymore. It isn't cool, sure you can do it, and talk about your rights all day long. In the end, you get the stink AND the cancer, I don't smoke anymore so I don't stink, and already my risk is way down from the 18 years in which I did smoke. Have a fun time every hour or so slowly killing yourself, and those around you with your filth. Disgusting.

I really don't care that nobody in the 60's complained about it. It was a different world then. Nobody complained how shitty car exhaust smelled either cuz thats the way it was.
